Avocadoes are usually associated with guacamole, but Gwyneth Paltrow‘s cookbook, My Father’s Daughter, keeps the lushious green fruit together and lathers it with a dip instead.

Paltrow is known for her love of vegan mayo Vegenaise, and recommends it for the white, creamy topping that includes sour cream and dijon mustard.

Mold On Veggies Good, Meat And Dairy Bad (Video)

Every day a new study comes out that contradicts our current knowledge or comfort, but this one is still kind of hard to swallow.

Contrary to what mother may have taught you, mold on certain food isn’t all that bad. In fact, if you’ve got mold on your fruits and vegetables, instead of having to deal with the Whole Foods parking lot drama to buy more, you can simply cut that part of the plant off and eat away.

obscura "Antiques & Oddities"

Evan Michelson and Mike Zohn are the stars of the Science Channel’s Oddities, a show about their everyday lives runningĀ Obscura Antiques and Oddities, a shop carrying, according to This Dish Is Veg, everything from “exploding skulls to embalming equipment to dolls made with belly button lint.”

Michelson and Zohn are both vegetarians, so thank goodness they aren’t eating some of those weird items with skulls, but they did reveal to This Dish Is Veg the oddities of their diets, which include plenty of good food from New York City’s vegetarian restaurants.

Barack Obama David Cameron

President Barack Obama has been chided many times by Vegetarian Star for his numerous public appearances that involved burgers, steak and high-fat dairy products instead of healthier grains, fruits and vegetables.

Now, the President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Dr. Neal Barnard, has written a piece for the Huffington Post which criticizes Obama’s recent trip to the UK to visit Prime Minister David Cameron, as the two shared a photo op over sausage.

Jamie Oliver has had some trouble convincing the Los Angeles Unified School District to let him snoop in its cafeterias, but a recent decision by the board to overhaul the food system, along with a statement from LAUSD officials praising Oliver’s efforts, shows the district at least has the sense to listen to what the British celebrity chef has to say.

Approving a 5-year contract this week, LAUSD officials gave the boot to flavored milk and other processed foods and added soy milk and other vegetarian options to the menus.

It was raining pregnant vegetarian women, but the storm is coming to an end. Natalie Portman just gave birth to a baby boy. Alicia Silverstone is now enjoying the world of vegan breastfeeding. Still waiting for Alyssa Milano and Emily Deschanel though.

With due dates later this year, both women are still very much eating for two and could no doubt devour an enormous veggie burger.
