Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, April 19th, 2012 in Athletes-Games-Sports, Food & Drink, Videos.

Daniel Bryan is featured here is a short video where he credits his success in wrestling to “living a clean, vegan lifestyle.”

Some haters like to yell, “Bacon, bacon, bacon,” when he enters the ring and there’s a brief scene when he gets booed after announcing he’s a vegan to a wrestling crowd, but there’s no greater revenge that letting them watch him slam an opponent to the ground with no mercy.

That’s what tofu, rice and an occasional vegan cupcake can do for you.

Watch the 2010 Heavyweight Champion above pay a visit to his favorite vegan restaurant, Red Velvet Cafe.

Round 2 of holding political figures responsible for their attitudes towards animals has begun.

Last week, animal welfare groups attacked Mitt Romney for a trip he took to Canada with a dog allegedly strapped to the top of a vehicle.

Now, critics have turned to a passage Obama wrote in one of his books, Dreams of My Father, where he discusses eating dog in Indonesia. PETA actually took the time to offer some constructive critcism while others have Tweeted away jokes worth groaning over, as you’ll read below.

Now she’s jokingly confessing that her character on HBO’s True Blood, Pam de Beaufort, has similar ethics when it comes to eating.

So all the vegetarians and vegans were enjoying what they thought were veg-friendly Frappacinos made with soy milk. But now news has surfaced that the Strawberries and Cream Frappucinos and Strawberry Smoothies they consumed were made to look pink with cochineal extract, a dye made from female cochineal insects.

Yummy.

Stephen Colbert poked fun of the fact Starbucks justified the use of this product by saying it wanted to get away from artificial ingredients. Colbert may be a slow-food activist after all, as he suggests people just trying grinding up a good old fruit with the same color in soy milk.

An actual fruit.

Fresh. Unprocessed. More nutrients. Zero bugs. Maybe Colbert is onto something.

People say, “I like to eat junk food.” You’re taking really low-grade gas and putting it in your car and asking it to run at its optimal. And it’s never going to work.”
