Quantcast Vegetarian StarSimone Reyes Not Wearing Milk Mustache With Global Grind Article

Simone Reyes

Simone Reyes may be Russell Simmon‘s assistant when it comes to business, but in the vegan and animal rights boardroom, this lovely lady has proven time and time again she’s in charge and everyone should follow orders.

She’s shared vegan beauty products with fans, made herself a piece of meat to promote vegetarianism and now, she’s written a piece at Global Grind to educate readers that milk from a cow may not do a body good at all.

Reyes gives several arguments against cow’s milk, including the fact most Americans stop producing enzymes to digest it soon after birth.

Most people begin to produce less lactase, the enzyme that helps with the digestion of milk, when they are as young as 2 years old. This reduction can lead to lactose intolerance.

She cites research that suggests eliminating milk from the diet may alleviate many medical problems.

A U.K. study showed that people who suffered from irregular heartbeats, asthma, headaches, fatigue, and digestive problems “showed marked and often complete improvements in their health after cutting milk from their diets.

Reyes remembers to touch on the animal rights side of dairy too, reminding readers that cows on dairy farms are often restricted in movement and forced to produce unnatural amounts of milk through various technologies.

Dairy cows are pumped full of growth hormones to increase milk production, but they’re not built to make that much milk, so they get painful infections (pus). Most cows raised for the dairy industry are intensively confined, leaving them unable to fulfill their most basic desires, such as nursing their calves, even for a single day.

Reyes’ entire column may be read at Global Grind.
