Mayim Bialik "Beyond The Sling"

Vegan author Mayim Bialik will take the stage at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books to discuss her new guide to parenting, Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way.

The annual festival that’s been taking place since 1996 attracts over 100,000 book lovers each year and features popular authors, storytelling, poetry readings, cooking demonstrations and more.

The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, 2012 at the University of Southern California campus. Saturday’s festival times are from 10 AM – 6 PM and Sunday’s are from 10 AM – 5 PM. Bialik will appear on the Los Angeles Times stage on Sunday, April 22 at 3:40 PM.

Beyond the Sling discusses some of the more serious issues of parenting like breast feeding and sleeping, but also tackles more entertaining topics like how to actually “wear the baby” in a sling to develop a deeper bond with it.
