Eve Wouldn’t Wear Her Dog As Fur–Is She Already Doing So? (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 in Female Singers, Fur, Videos.

Eve

Singer Eve gave an interview where she ranted on animal right activists who criticize fur wearers. “Don’t force your opinion upon me. I like fur. And there are a lot of beautiful furs. And I’m gonna rock my fur and you better not throw nothing on me,” Eve said. She then exclaimed, “I wouldn’t wear my dog!”

Ha! We’d love to be the ones who Blow Her Mind. Eve doesn’t even realize that dog fur has been marketed as “other” and incorporated as clothing that’s been sold in the U.S. Even worse, faux fur wearers have been tricked into thinking they were wearing compassion, when they too were wearing dog fur. If you choose to don the fake look, but don’t want to be duped like Eve,  here are some tips to determine if the retail brand you’re wearing hasn’t told a faux about the nature of the fur. These tips are complements of Pierre Grzybowski, manager of the fur campaign for the Humane Society of the United States.

Kate Nash has some quirks, like her OCD, which made her go vegetarian. But for a gal with anxiety, amazingly, it’s not being thousands of feet above ground the makes her nervous. It’s the food she might encounter on the flight.

“I’m not scared of crashing or turbulence,” Nash told the Columbus Dispatch. “I hate the food, so I always make a packed lunch”

The holidays are moments away and if you prefer the friendly skies to get over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s, you should know the Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine has researched and found the best airports for healthy vegan and vegetarian food. If flying out of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, you’ll have it made. Taking off or landing in Las Vegas or Washington, D.C, however, may be a problem.

Pink Stabs Matador For Bulls In “Raise Your Glass” Video

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010 in Animal Issues, Female Singers, Videos.

Pink fights back for a bull in this video for her song, “Raise Your Glass.”

The video, which also highlights the issues of bullying, same-sex marriage and middle-class issues, features the vegetarian singer stepping in front of a bull and stabbing the matador.

Pink frequently speaks out against animals in the entertainment industry and the use of fur for fashion.

Unfortunately, a bull fighting ban created in Spain’s Catalonia region is already being challenged by an appeal to the Constitutional Court by the Popular Party. The ban is supposed to take effect in 2012. On a positive note, the ban has stimulated animal rights activists in France to work to get a similar measure passed there, where the sport is especially popular in the Southern region.

On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show,” Janet Jackson told Jay Leno what some of her favorite vegan foods are.

Grab the map and start taking notes, because Miss Jackson has suggestions from the Midwest to California to the East Coast.

In LA, Janet likes Vegan Glory for their “great tacos and great chicken McNuggets.”

“There’s a place I go to when I’m home in New York–Red Bamboo. I love their chicken Parmesan…It tastes just like chicken but it’s all soy.”

Janet had to explain to Jay that while in Chicago, she would never eat the “Demon Dog,” hot dog.

We  understand. Seitan is devilish enough.
