Actor Jimmy Fallon arrives at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit celebrating the opening of American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity in New York

Jimmy Fallon buttered up to a PETA volunteer at the White House Correspondents dinner last weekend by giving the lady a hug and whispering, “PETA girls are hot.”

Hot, partially nude females make the animal rights group well known, but does it serve to promote vegetarianism?

Such the question arose when Lea Michele told Popeater she’s not ready to take her clothes off yet and feels she can get the message out that it’s not cool to wear fur without showing cleavage.

In the midst of PR frenzies, let’s hope PETA girls are remembered for the message they send about treating animals kindly as much as they are for their legs.

Alicia Silverstone “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” Vegan Treats

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 in Actresses, Food & Drink, TV Hosts, Videos.

Alicia Silverstone visited Jimmy Fallon for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and brought along some vegan food from NYC restaurants Pure Food and Wine,Candle 79 and Sacred Chow.

Alicia explains to Jimmy what seitan is, and its benefits.

Fallon samples a tempeh reuben, but cautions against tasting it at first in case there’s real mayonnaise, something Fallon says “taste like pus.”

“Which is fair, because that’s what dairy is,” Alicia says. “Dairy is pus and blood.”

Thankfully, it’s all vegan, no pus and delicious.

Lisa Edelstein Supports Vegan Shoe Companies

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 in Actresses, Environment-Eco-Green, Fashion.

Glee Cheerleaders Exclusive Performance at Foxs Upfront Presentation

Lisa Edelstein has told us all about her vegan shoe problem in the past.

Although she sometimes wears leather shoes, the House actress and vegetarian says she tries to support vegan companies whenever possible.

“There are some wonderful emerging companies that have great vegan shoes and bags and I try to support them as much as possible.”

Edelstein, along with other celebrities like Jimmy Fallon, Laura Wright, and John Henson share their secrets for being green on Mother Nature Network.

I’m the crazy person that for the last 20 years has brought my own bags to the grocery store,” Edelstein said. “I use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies in my house, I use biodegradable doggie bags and I drive a hybrid. I do what I can. If everybody does what they can it will make an enormous difference.”

If you’re looking for a vegan shoe, it might surprise you to know they’re not as scarce as some realize. Even shops like Target will usually have a few pairs containing completely man-made material.

With well known designers like Elizabeth Olsen to a pocketbook and environmentally friendly Zoe and Zac brand at Payless Shoes, you’re guaranteed plenty of opportunities to have your style and ethics too.

Jimmy Fallon Going Back To The Vegetarian Roots

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, December 26th, 2008 in Bands, Male Musicians, Male Singers.

38th Annual NAACP Image Awards - Show

Actor and comedian Jimmy Fallon will be replacing Late Night host Conan O’Brien next spring on March 2nd, and he’s picked The Roots to be his house band.

Scratch, Rahzel, Black Thought, ?uestlove, Hub, and Malik B. all once recorded a video advocating vegetarianism. The band has been through some changes, Black Thought and ?uestlove are the only great men remaining who appeared in that video and it’s not certain whether other band members are vegetarian, but The Roots has generally been thought of, as a veg band.

Incidentally, Kevin Eubanks, a musician on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, is also a vegetarian, and was voted the sexiest male vegetarian in 2007.

Break out the hummus and pita chips. Late night TV just keeps getting veggier.
