Kirsten Vangsness plays Penelope Garcia, the technical analyst of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit on Criminal Minds with a warm and quirky personality that has a knack for finding all the right answers quickly.

Vangsness told Mother Nature Network about her green activities on the set of Criminal Minds, which include installing a water filter instead of using plastic bottles. She is almost a full time vegetarian, eating wild caught fish occasionally.

Wild fish beat their farmed counterparts in many areas of nutrition and eco-friendliness. They have more usable omega-3 fatty acids, less fat, are packaged without the use of artificial dyes to the flesh and come with less pesticides and environmentally destructive chemicals found at  higher levels in farmed fish like endocrine disrupting flame-retardant additives.
