Ben Gibbard and Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie are celebrating with Amy’s Frozen Burritos.

They’ve got one of the first songs to be announced for the New Moon soundtrack, Meet Me On The Equinox.

Ben and Chris will truly be the real vegetarian vampires of New Moon-not just the pseudo ones that don’t eat people.

Between the two band members, who would you rather…

Death Cab For Cutie: Vegetarians For “New Moon” Veg Vampires

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009 in Bands, Film & TV, Videos.

Death Cab For Cutie will have a song on the New Moon soundtrack called Meet Me On The Equinox.

Seems fitting that real vegetarians Ben Gibbard and Chris Walla would sing a song for a movie about vegetarian vampires.

Take a listen and say what you think.

TheBongoVirus.com New Years Eve Party - Arrivals

We heard that Australian pop dual The Veronicas, which consist of Jess Origliasso and her sister Lisa Origliasso were partying it up with Joel Madden at the TAO Las Vegas.

The Origliasso sisters were said to have dined on vegetarian fare before heading to the nightclub area.

If you recall us telling you, Jess, was incredibly interested in doing anti-fur campaigns and was spotted on the subway wearing a faux leather jacket that read, “F*** Fur” on the back.

It wasn’t noted what vegetarian status in limbo Joel Madden was munching on, but we sureĀ  hope it wasn’t leftover Hamburger Helper.

Rise Against Concert Gives Bad Veggie Burrito Experience

Rise Against Visits Fuses No. 1 Countdown

You know that the all vegetarian band Rise Against is big on spreading their vegetarian beliefs, whether it’s through bringing up the lifestyle during an interview or having vegetarian information packets available at their concerts.

At a recent Lollapalooza 2009 concert where the guys teamed up with band Animal Collective, their fans were fortunate enough to have vegetarian fare to choose from, but according to Time Out Chicago writer Doyle Armbrust, the vegetarian burritos were akin to euthanasia.

“Perhaps these PETA-championing vegetarians can write an homage to the veggie burrito that sent my writer colleague home early with food poisoning during their set.”

Of course, the food poisoning could have stemmed from the colleague’s earlier entree of beefy cold cuts or a chicken salad for lunch.

It’s never pleasant to see a veg burrito get bad publicity, though. Ouch!

If you’re looking for some good vegetarian burritos, check out Amy’s collection, which happened to be the staple of Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla.

From bean and cheese to vegan non dairy beans and rice to breakfast and even Indian flavored varieties, Amy’s wraps veggie burritos up and tucks them under in all the right corners.

And we bet they won’t send you home with a belly ache.

Girl In A Coma Ate Veg On The Road With Joan Jett, Morrissey

Since when has the world experienced a new female rock phenomena?

Chrissie Hynde? Poly Styrene? Joan Jett and the Blackhearts? Kathleen Hanna and Bikini Kill?

Girl in a Coma may be the next grrrls to rock our world!

The all vegetarian rock band from San Antonio, Texas is signed to Joan Jett’s record label, Blackheart Records, and has toured with both Joan and Morrissey.

Bet the catering situation for both tours wasn’t too hard to figure out!

You can catch Girl in a Coma in San Fransisco tonight at 9PM at Bottom of the Hill.

In the meantime, here’s a bit from a chat they had with San Fransisco Music Examiner Jamie Freedman.

On touring with Morrissey:
Other than super awesome? It was surreal. We idolize Moz (Morrissey’s nickname from the fans). The tour taught us a lot about how to open for a larger band, it was like Moz boot camp. We were really intimidated since his fans tend to be really intelligent about music. We also got to eat some really kickass vegetarian food.

On politics:
It just so happens that we have a lot to stand for: we are vegetarians, we are a band with two lesbians, we stand up for things, we are happy to help out and we are happy to ask for help when we need it.

Absolutely cool video of Benji and Joel Madden behind the scenes at Denny’s restaurant, making burritos for Denny’s Rockstar Menu.

Thanks to Joel for the lovely Tweet to direct us there.

The Rockstar menu was created by various musicians who went into Denny’s kitchen and whipped up their favorite grub.

Benji and Joel created a vegetarian burrito with a Boca Burger.

“Kids when you order this, I want you to imagine that we’re back here, making it for you, with love,” says Benji.

We will, Benji. We’ll keep the love alive.

Z100s Jingle Ball 2008 - Show

After a drawn out discussion and some investigation, we were saddened to learn that Hayley Williams of Paramore isn’t vegetarian after all.

During a conversation with Rob Pattinson, Hayley appeared as if she genuinely loved Gardenburgers.

But one thing Hayley does love is vegan desserts baked by Danielle Konya and her Vegan Treats crew.

On a recent Twitter, Danielle wrote:

“Tonight we baked for Paramore, No Doubt, and Eddie Vedder, fun!!”

The vegan bakery Danielle owns has baked goodies for several celebrities, including AFI and Alkaline Trio, who’s drummer Derek Grant recently wrote a jingle to express his love for Vegan Treats.

You can check out Vegan Treat’s new website, and follow Danielle’s tweeting @vegantreats.
