Quantcast Vegetarian StarBeatles “Abbey Road” Cover “Let It Bean” Made Of Breakfast Food

Food sculptor Paul Baker was commissioned by the Beefeater Grill UK restaurant chain to recreate the Beatles’ famous Abbey Road cover. Ironically, the chain’s beefy name didn’t prevent Baker from keeping vegetarian Paul McCartney‘s ideals in mind. While the rest of the album is crafted from breakfast foods like sausage and bacon, Baker ensured McCartney was made of mushrooms.

“It was a challenge to find the best way to create Paul McCartney – we wanted to stick to his vegetarian preferences,” Baker said. “After trying out a few different things, we decided mushrooms were the best way to go”

The artwork titled, “Let it Bean” also features John Lennon made out of eggs, Ringo Starr with bacon and George Harrison with sausages, plus other breakfast foods from Beefeater Grill’s menu, including tomatoes, croissants, crumpets, hash browns, toast, fresh and dried fruit and cereal.

The Beefeater Grill does have a few other vegetarian options available, such as the Sweet Red Pepper and Crème Fraîche Tart, and others–like risotto and Caesar salad–that can be made vegetarian upon request.

“To celebrate our breakfast menu, we wanted to do something to mark an amazing year for Great Britain,” spokesman for the restaurant, Sam Vaughan said. “And what is more British than The Beatles crossing Abbey Road? After a ‘Hard Day’s Night,’ a hearty breakfast is the best way to start the day and we hope that the variety we offer at Beefeater Grill will keep our customers coming back for more!”
