Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Lovers Quarrel?

Tori Spelling revealed 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me to Us Magazine, and several of these secrets lead us to believe Spelling has the potential to be both a great animal activist and vegetarian.

For example, she works with rescue animals and took in cats–even though they make her sneeze!:
“I’m allergic to cats, but I had three of them for years because they’re supercute and I work with rescue animals.”

She wants to open her own animal sanctuary up one day:
“One day, I want to open an animal sanctuary to house all the homeless, unwanted and abandoned animals.”

If we can’t get her off meat completely, she’d likely do well as a pescatarian:
“Could live on sushi and be really happy!”

She’s got that small farmer, grow you own mentality:
“I dream of living on a farm. I want chickens, goats, cows and horses! We want to grow our own veggies and fruits and make our own milk and cheese!”

Vegetarian Star suggests Tori make her own vegan cheese.

NY Sportime (John McEnroe) VS Boston Lobsters (Martina Navratilova)

Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with breast cancer, but her prognosis is positive.

Getting in the bad habit of missing regular breast exams, Navratilova said another missed year could have been costly.

“I went four years between mammograms. I let it slide. Everyone gets busy, but don’t make excuses,” she said.

“I stay in shape and eat right, and it happened to me. Another year and I could have been in big trouble.”

Navratilova has been involved with animal activism and was a complete vegetarian for many years before adding fish to her diet.

Following a vegetarian diet that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in beta-carotene may increase the chances of survival if a diagnoses of breast cancer is obtained.

When researchers divided Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer into three groups based on the amount of beta-carotene containing fruits and vegetables they consumed, the group with the highest beta-carotene consumption experienced the fewest deaths over six years, while the group with the lowest experienced the most.

One possible explanation for this is that in the digestive tract, beta-carotene is converted to Vitamin A, which is then converted to retinoic acid, which has demonstrated anti-cancer effects on cells.

Premiere Of Dreamworks Pictures' "Tropic Thunder" - Arrivals

Alicia Silverstone‘s husband Christopher Jarecki temporarily took over her blog, The Kind Life, to write about their rescue dogs while Alicia was away on stage in New York.

All four of the couple’s dogs, The Pig, Lacey, Sampson, and Sweety are rescued, and Christopher shares a bed with The Pig, a bulldog.

“I know that some of you are aware of the benefits of rescuing dogs and avoiding breeders and pet stores,” writes Christopher. ” But if there are any of you who aren’t quite sure why rescuing is so much better than buying a dog, let me know and I can do a whole blog about it.”

Will there be a regular animal segment of The Kind Life coming soon, thanks to the hubby?

The U.S. Sportmen’s Alliance is at it again, targeting celebrities who are benefiting the Humane Society of the United States.

Last year, Carrie Undewood was criticized for donating proceeds from her American Idol elimination track “Home Sweet Home” to the organization.

This year, Ellen DeGeneres and Bluewater Comics are the bull’s-eyes.

The group wrote to the company that is producing Ellen’s Female Force comic book detailing her life, because a portion of its proceeds are going to the Humane Society as well.

“As the producer of this comic, we respectfully ask that you consider severing the relationship you have established with HSUS,” Alliance president and chief executive officer Walter P. Pidgeon wrote in an email provided to E! Online by Bluewater.

A Bluewater representative wrote back, saying it would not comply with the Alliance’s request.

“While we respect your right to disagree with the goals of The Humane Society of the United States,” a Bluewater rep said, “we do not share your concerns about the organization.”

Martha Stewart hosted actress Andie MacDowell on a recent episode of The Martha Stewart Show to make a completely vegetarian dish.

Broiled black pepper tofu with soy lemon dipping sauce, soba noodles with vegetables and mint, and baked apricots with almond topping for dessert was on Martha’s menu for Thursday, which is described on her website.

“This vegetarian meal tastes exotic but is surprisingly simple. Tofu broiled in a pepper marinade is served with a tangy lemon- and ginger-flecked sauce. Soba noodles with carrots and sugar snap peas are healthful and satisfying.”

Keeping the meal healthy, dessert consists of fresh fruit lightly sprinkled with brown sugar and topped with almonds.

You may grab the recipes for all components of the meal at Martha Stewart.

Bethune was not available to pose for the poster though, as he is being held in Japan on charges of “trespassing, causing injuries, obstructing commercial activities, vandalism and carrying a weapon.”

Bethune was taken into custody after boarding ship Shonan Maru 2 in an attempt to make a citizen’s arrest of its captain.

Nicole Richie Organic Food Rules For Household

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, April 9th, 2010 in Children, Food & Drink.

Nicole Richie Takes Her Ballerina To Class!

Nicole Richie didn’t have a lot of rules growing up as a child, but she wants her household ran differently.

Most of Richie’s rules for daughter Harlow are about keeping her healthy, though.

According to Celebrity Baby Scoop, a friend told Life and Style, “Nicole is obsessed with doing everything she can to try to keep her children healthy and safe.”

One big rule is that the family eat organic.

From Celebrity Baby Scoop:

“The former Simple Life star even grows her own veggies in her garden to prepare salads and stir-fries for vegetarian fiancé, Joel Madden.”

For items she doesn’t grow in her backyard, Richie probably refers to resources like the Top Foods to Buy Organic, before shopping.

Is there any chance of Richie making a rule about eating totally vegetarian in the household?

Giving up meat!

He’s the (no impact) man!

Giving up bottled water and biking or walking from point A to B also top Colin’s list.
