Quantcast Vegetarian StarSportsmen’s Alliance To Carrie Underwood: Keep Animal Love To Yourself

51st Annual Grammy Awards - Show

Country music singer Carrie Underwood said she sometimes gets booed for saying she’s a vegetarian in some parts of the country. Now she’s getting booed for being an animal lover.

As we reported earlier, Carrie’s voice can be heard singing Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” during each American Idol contestant’s elimination this year. Some of the profits from her version of “Home Sweet Home” available on iTunes will go towards the Humane Society of the United States.

And that just makes the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance want to poop (pun intended).

“Carrie Underwood has decided to use her talents to benefit an organization dedicated to destroying the rights of thousands of her fans,” said Rick Story, vice president of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, in a news release. “HSUS does not operate or oversee animal shelters; it is a radical organization that seeks to end hunting and other responsible uses of animals in America.”

The Alliance is urging hunters to contact Fox and demand they not play Carrie’s song.

Wow. Talk about “radical.”

Trying to censor an artist who wants to benefit an organization that works to protect so many animals by speaking out against puppy mills to protecting farm animals sounds more radical. Trying to censor an artist just because she donates to a charity that doesn’t work in favor of your interest is radical.

It’s highly unlikely Fox will drop their Idol alumnus. And it’s highly likely the added publicity will improves sales of “Home Sweet Home.”

Great article! I am sick of these radicals lying about what the HSUS does! They do have animal shelters and they do protect animals. They hunters are lying and using poor Carrie as a platform for their stupid agenda. Carrie is being caught in the crossfire. I say, Bravo to Carrie and anyone else who loves animals and stands up for their humane treatment!

Hunters are not using Carrie as a platform. Most hunters are country folks and many are Carries’ fans but with the anouncement of the single “home sweet home” benefitting HSUS they are displeased. HSUS is a anti-hunting/anti-agricultural organization, thats a fact and the hunters and farmers (her fans) are upset because its a organization that has it in their agenda to end hunting and raising livestock. Had it been the Humane Society of America which isnt an organization with a hidden agenda such as HSUS people wouldnt be upset. Also Carrie has stated that she would like to open an animal shelter, which I think that would be an amazing use of the money rather than giving it to HSUS. Im all for an organizion to help animals from starving on the streets, or help sick or injured animals, just as long as the organization isnt trying to force their values on people which is what HSUS is doing by wanting to ban hunting and raising livestock. As you may have figured out by now, I am a hunter. I ONLY take from mother nature what my family and I are going to eat. That doesnt mean I dont have a heart for gods animals though. As of right now with it being late winter theres not much for the animals to eat on the property I harvest from, and as of right now I go out every day to put out oats, corn, soybeans, and alfalfa for the animals to eat. Its my way of giving back to nature for what I took to survive.
