2009 FOX UpFront After Party Celebrity Arrivals in NYC

So there’s a new show out called Breaking Bread.

It’s a 12-episode series where celebrities get together and chill and talk about their favorite causes.

On a recent episode, the favorite cause of the week was…you guessed it-veganism!

The vegan episode was hosted by Choe Jo Berman, blogger at GirlieGirlArmy.com and was packed with Hollywood glam like Meredith Salenger, Corey and Susie Feldman, Persia White, John Joseph, Mickey Madden, Emily Deschanel, Marilu Henner, Mariel Hemmingway, Gene Baur, Victoria Moran, Rory Freedman and Laban Pheidias.

The show is apparently so hot, things have to cool down before an air date can be set. When we find out more, we’ll let you know!

Mayim Bialik Home: Kosher With Vegan Options

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, June 4th, 2009 in Actresses.

Opening Of CavaliaMayim Bialik is getting more than her 15 minutes of rediscovered fame with tons of interviews and a brand new makeover.

The former Blossom star has talked about her vegetarian diet before, and spoke with Celebrity Baby Blog again recently about some of the vegetarian and natural things she does in her household.

Mayim describes the fam as a “non-obnoxious” green one, (in contrast to the Goodes?) that share beds, make their own shampoo, granola, and cleaning products.

And while Mayim follows a vegetarian diet, the house isn’t completely veggie-just kosher with vegan options.

“I’m technically a vegan, but I do eat egg if it’s in things. And that’s how we raise Miles, too. I cook meat for my husband, which is Kosher, but we don’t have a vegan house, just Kosher house that has vegan options for everyone.”

Tomorrow is World Environment Day!

There’s no question that vegetarianism is kinder to Mother Earth than any other diet, as raising livestock emits more pollution than all the cars on the roads!

Yann Arthus-Bertrand‘s “Home” showcases the bad and the beautiful in one documentary. Scenic photographs of pastures and oceans taken from the sky, as well as the smog and pollution mankind has created during the past several decades.

“In 50 years, in a single lifetime, the Earth has been more radically changed than by all previous generations of humanity,” states the film.

Vegetarian fashion designer Stella McCartney will host a screening of the film at her West Hollywood store tomorrow.

The film is narrated in two versions, English by Glenn Close, and Spanish by Selma Hayek.

Tim Harmon

You already know the guys of Rise Against are vegetarian and big time animal rights supporters. That’s why they’re encouraging people to petition the Canadian government and Olympics committee to stop steal hunting.

But did you also know every one of the guys, with the exception of drummer Brandon Barnes, are straight-edge, which is a lifestyle marked by abstaining from many things, including alcohol.

Their latest tour kicks off in Canada this summer, where they’ll have bands like Rancid and Billy Talent opening for them.

The 6th Annual Womans Day Red Dress Awards - Arrivals

From now until June 7, you need to get your tails down to Sirani Gallery on Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The lovely works of Peter Max are on display there, including his 44 Obama paintings and a total of 180 mostly unique works.

That’s a lot of numbers!

What kind of man has the energy to paint 44 pictures of President Obama? Max credits his endurance to yoga and a vegetarian diet and says he feels like a college kid again.

“I feel like I’m 22 years old,” Max said. “I have 100 people who work for me. I’m involved in animal rights. My wife and I are involved helping hundreds of organizations.”

He may feel like a newbie, but one thing’s for sure: Max is earning way more money that most young, starving artists.
