Kristy Lee Cook

A former American Idol contestant who wowed the crowds with her southern croons won’t be following the steps of fellow country music star and American Idol alumnus Carrie Underwood.

Kristy Lee Cook is the star of a new hunting television show, Goin’ Country, on the Versus channel where cameras shoot her as she shoots any creature that looks potentially tasty.

Recently Goldilocks shot the bear who was eating her grains and messing with her horses. She never found him on her bed, though.

“That bear had been causing trouble for five nights, eating grain and spooking my horses. He was making a mess of the whole barn,” Cook said, according to Fox News. “One night I was walking in the house and I saw something standing in the door of my barn and I got him in one shot.”

Kimberley Locke‘s life has changed much since her appearance on season 3 of American Idol, especially her diet.

No longer having the insatiable appetite for the southern fried foods her mother frequently cooked at home, these days the AI top three finalist has traded Hardees for Hemp protein and even dabbles in vegan food.

“Since losing weight post Idol I have definitely read up on supplements and incorporated some new ones into my regimen,” Locke told the Bay Area Healthy Living Examiner. “I take a multi-vitamin, b-6, b-12, zinc, magnesium…. those are just a few. My favorite is a hemp shake that I found at Erewhone. It has 14 grams of fiber! In world of over processed foods this is my most important supplement.”

“I even have a favorite vegan restaurant in Los Angeles that I really enjoy!”

Erewhone is a natural foods store in Los Angeles that offers groceries, organic produce and natural remedy products such as herbal mixtures.

Locke has also lost 40 pounds since American Idol.

Secret Behind Jennifer Hudson's New Look Revealed

Jennifer Hudson has signed on to be a spokesperson for the weight loss program, Weight Watchers, after losing weight herself after the birth of her child.

Hudson was quoted by Popeater as saying, “{It’s} a lifestyle change, not a diet.”

When it comes to losing weight, what works?

Counting calories? Spends hours every week at the gym?

According to Food Consumer, Dr. Colin T Campbell, a Cornell University nutritionist and author of The China Study, suggests that what you eat is more important than how much and that eating a well balanced vegetarian or vegan diet may prevent weight gain.

Will Jennifer soon discover what another American Idol alumnus, Ruben Studdard, did about meatless eating and weight loss?

American Idol Gives Back - Press Room

The way to a man’s heart is through is his stomach, and Ellen DeGeneres is reportedly trying to make friends with Simon Cowell by feeding him.

The New York DailyNews says that Ellen has been bringing dishes made by her personal chef to her fellow American Idol judge.

“She thought she could get to cranky Simon’s heart through his stomach.”

“She’s vegan, so a typical meal is tofu stroganoff.”

The Daily News goes on to say that, “Maybe in Hollywood that counts as making nice. In New York, it would be torture.”

Its a safe bet that Simon wouldn’t consider it torture at all, given the fact he’s already given Linda McCartney sausages the X factor and agreed to give Meat Free Mondays a try.

Maybe a batch of homemade vegan cookies will calm Simon’s crankiness during finalist week.

Ellen DeGeneres went on a mission to give up processed sugar to gain energy (and maybe to ease that sexual tension between her and Simon on American Idol).

Giving up sugar doesn’t mean giving up sweetness, by the way.

Try alternatives like honey, agave nectar or rice syrup to sweet talk your way out of the white stuff.

Before you embark on any sugarless  journey, check with your doc first!
