Kristy Lee Cook has taken heat from animal lovers for her new TV show about hunting. But in all fairness, we have to report on the animal and vegetarian lifestyle friendly activities she does as well.

The former American Idol finalist founded a horse rescue organization, the KLC Horse Heaven Foundation, that enriches the lives of horses and people through three different divisions: the Free’d Spirit program, Hors’n Around program and the Natures Wild Adventures program.

Kristy Lee Cook has already drawn the ire of PETA after news that she’s starring in a new hunting show called Goin’ Country. The former American Idol finalist fired back–this time with words and not a rifle.

Cook isn’t taking the criticism sitting down and has responded by claiming hunters do more for conservation than any other group.

Kristy Lee Cook is the star of a new hunting television show, Goin’ Country, on the Versus channel where cameras shoot her as she shoots any creature that looks potentially tasty.

Recently Goldilocks shot the bear who was eating her grains and messing with her horses. She never found him on her bed, though.

“That bear had been causing trouble for five nights, eating grain and spooking my horses. He was making a mess of the whole barn,” Cook said, according to Fox News. “One night I was walking in the house and I saw something standing in the door of my barn and I got him in one shot.”
