Quantcast Vegetarian StarKristy Lee Cook “KLC Horse Heaven Foundation” Helps Horses And Children

Kristy Lee Cook

Kristy Lee Cook has taken heat from animal lovers for her new TV show about hunting. But in all fairness, we have to report on the animal and vegetarian lifestyle friendly activities she does as well.

The former American Idol finalist founded a horse rescue organization, the KLC Horse Heaven Foundation, that enriches the lives of horses and people through three different divisions: the Free’d Spirit program, Hors’n Around program and the Natures Wild Adventures program.

The Free’d Spirit program purchases horse from people who either can no longer take care of the animals or rescues them from abuse or neglect situations. The program includes rescuing horses from race tracks once they are deemed too old to compete.

Hors’n Around program allows children, particularly at-risk juveniles, to interact with the horses after they’ve been rescued and rehabilitated. And the Natures Wild Adventures program works to preserve land for equestrian and outdoor use. This land may include but is not limited to trail riding and camping.

Mud Stomper is a current star on the KLC Horse Heaven Foundation website, a horse that was given surgery thanks to donations to the charity.

Cook has written a blurb on the site, explaining her motivations to start the foundation:

“I Kristy Lee Cook the founder of Kristy Lee Horse Heaven Foundation am so anxious to have the opportunity to get my foundation doing more to help save the horses and work with at risk youth. I love horses with all my heart, and they have always been there for me through the good and the difficult times. The least I can do is to give back to them in appreciation of all they have done and meant to me. I am also very excited to work with kids, and let them experience the love and passion for horses; that I also have! They will be given the opportunity to ride, brush, bathe, and enjoy these majestic animals. Join us in an amazing opportunity to save their lives!”
