“Well, people have been telling me for years: “You’ve got to do a cookbook,” because they know how much I love to cook and spend time in the kitchen and cook up tasty meals without a lot of extravagant affair. But, it was a hard thing because I’ve had a bunch of other people asking for years about a running book. So it was like, how can I combine the two of them, and give something for everyone?”

“It can be disheartening because I’ll be asked to do campaigns a lot. I’m so passionate that I’ll put everything into it. You see other campaigns where celebrities jump on board but animal rights issues is something where people feel they can’t really tread. It’s not even about being a vegetarian. Once they make different choices in the grocery store — and on the Main Street fast-food restaurants — then companies will be forced to serve a higher quality offer. That’s when the real change happens.”

Jamie Oliver, who recently created “Food Revolution Day,” a holiday celebrated this month that encouraged people around the globe to cook without processed ingredients.
