Vegetarian Star

Willie Nelson is inviting horse lovers across the nation to consider adopting one of his “Signature Horses” at Habitat for Horses.

The organization takes in rescue horses from a variety of abuse and neglect situations.

Over the years, Nelson and his daughter have worked with Habitat for Horses to help over 70 horses find loving homes.

The adoption rules for horses are obviously more extensive than for your typical house pet.

Moby attended the 2013 Genesis Awards sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States.

The musician discussed the vegan restaurant Crossroads, which he says he’s a little biased about because he’s one of the investors.

Moby mentions several other vegan restaurants around the country and world that he doesn’t happen to have any financial stake in.

Ricky Martin has spent the last couple of months living the vida vegetarian and PETA has decided to sponsor a rescue chicken after him in his honor.

The chicken is named Olivia, and she spends her days at the Kindred Spirits Sanctuary in Florida “taking dust baths, roosting in trees and relaxing in the sun.”

Russ Irwin has been a backup vocalist and keyboardist for the rock group Aerosmith for years.

Irvin has eaten vegan for the past year and a half and has taken the time to record a pro-vegetarian ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

“First thing that happen when I made the switch–I lost a lot of weight,” Irwin says in the video.

“I just felt lighter. I felt healthier. I felt better.”

Justin Timberlake‘s recent SNL skit transformed him into a block of tofu cheering on quinoa, brown rice and kale.

Dancing the trendy and popular “Harlem Shake,” Timberlake borrows melodies from favorite club tunes like “Freak Out,” and “Ice, Ice Baby” and replaces the lyrics with catchy, vegan ones like “Veg Out,” and “Brown Rice Baby.”

“I still have plenty of vices, but alcohol isn’t one of them. It’s probably just down to sleep and diet. The singer has been following the diet for about two months and took the time to send out a Tweet about it.

“7 weeks on a #vegetarian diet! I feel amazing! #NoFish #NoRedMeat #NoChicken.”

Ricky sent out the same Tweet in espanol!
