Nigella Lawson was a recent guest on NPR’s Morning Edition.

The program has launched “Cook Your Cupboard,” a segment that explores what to do with the random items in your refrigerator you bought eons ago and need to find a use for.

Lawson took one listener’s collection of items and suggested several vegetarian dishes of chili, almond milk pancakes and cauliflower soup with almond milk.

Vegan Papa Ganache Wins “Cupcake Wars” Competition

Cupcake Wars

A vegan bakery based in Matawan, New Jersey won the Food Network’s recent Cupcake Wars competition.

Papa Ganache received the top prize of 10,000 dollars and the opportunity to feed the sweet craving crowd at the People’s Choice Awards.

Judges were thrilled with the baker’s crème brulée, chocolate ganache and salted caramel, l Brussel-carrot curry topped with cream cheese frosting and maple-curry reduction, and gluten-free lemon with blackberry and lemon-thyme filling cupcakes.

Michael Pollan was a guest with Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report discussing his latest book that explores the art of cooking in the home kitchen, Cooked.

Pollan, also the author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma, is not a proponent of a completely vegetarian diet, but he has a lot to say about avoiding processed food and shunning corporations that do not put a lot of thought into the ingredients that go into their products.

Munter realizes that a job as professional race car driver isn’t the most environmentally friendly one.

But just as the world grows closer and closer to running motorized vehicles on eco-friendly fuel (even those that run at 200 mph), Munter continues to do her part by educating fans of the environment, leaving recycling bins at the track, and of course, adhering to a plant-based diet.
