We all know organic is better for us, especially when it comes to some fruits and vegetables, but sometimes it’s hard to do the org thing because of access or financial issues. Not to worry, even the stars who pledge to be healthy have to compromise every now and then.

“Sometimes it’s just not practical, but I do what I can. I shop at Whole Foods in the U.K.,” said Stella McCartney.

Stella has her own line of organic skin care products, CARE, which are 100% totally organic.

She’s featured on Sprig.com’s 10 Organic Diet Secret of the Stars slide show, along with militant organic momma Madonna.

Many animal rights activists are cheering now that an Indian Supreme Court has ruled not to kill the stray dogs in Mumbai, a case that received lots of attention in the media due to Pamela Anderson’s interventions.

She wrote a letter to officials asking that instead the dogs be sterilized, citing evidence that this was more effective.

“Dogs cannot use condoms, but with the municipality’s help, they can be ‘fixed’ — painlessly, quickly and permanently,” she said.

India’s Supreme Court ruled that a dog could only be put down if it were rabid, mortally wounded, or incurably ill.

“A dog cannot be exterminated because it barks,” senior lawyer Fali S. Nariman told the court.

A spokesperson for PETA, Anuradha Sawhney, said that Anderson going public with her opinions and giving the case so much attention may have affected the decision.

“It makes people realise that a lot of people do care about these animals,” she said.

“I think the main thing here is that we need to make people realise how important these dogs are and there’s really nothing demeaning in having a stray dog. They’re just another dog.”

Emily Deschanel went to a high school that valued students’ green grades as much as their math and science G.P.A. She also shops at vintage clothing stores and wants solar panels in her home. Her number one green secret is being vegan.

Speaking of vintage clothing, here’s a vintage dress she wore to The Upfronts, a meeting with television executives, the press, and advertisers. She’s looks stunning! Oh, yeah. Who’s bringing vintage back? Em’s bringing vintage back!

A certified green restaurant catered Moby’s Green Room for an inauguration party at the Manifest Hope D.C. gallery, meant to showcase artists who used their voices to speak up on behalf of President Obama during the election.

Moby, as well as De La Soul and Santogold performed, the Washington Business Journal reported.

Sweetgreen is about as green as you can get for an eatery, using local and organic produce, biodegradable packaging and utensils, and energy-efficient lighting. The salad and yogurt shop is also vegan friendly.

The vegan dinner provided at the screening of Nigel Barker’s A Sealed Fate was catered by none other than Iron Chef Cat Cora, according to HollyScoop.

Months ago, Cat teamed up with Morningstar Farms, a vegetarian Frozen food brand, to teach her fans how to incorporate healthier, quick meals into their diets.

“Morningstar Farms and I have come up with some easy ways to make eating well more manageable for the home cook,” she had said. “I want families to understand that good food doesn’t require hours in the kitchen.”

Looks like Cat can do more with vegetarian than just toss a soy sausage into the oven to bake. We’re sure the big vegan dinner took more than 15 minutes to create.

Whether you like PETA or not, you have to admit they do have their own successful MTV/Vh1 channel thing going with all the celebrity PSAs they have recorded. You could probably do a top 10 countdown of “Best Of” every year if you wanted to.

The latest is done by actress and musician Daniela Sea, who plays the computer tech Moira/Max Sweeney on Showtime’s The L Word.  A quote from Daniela in her video:

“The meat industry doesn’t want you to think about all the animals they are torturing and killing. And they definitely don’t want you to think about all the diseases related to eating meat. Their only concern is making a profit. Along time ago I made a decision to quit eating meat and dairy products…”

British comedian Ricky Gervais is experiencing the issues many have after learning the truth of how food gets from the animal to their plate.

Lately Gervais has been struggling with the morality of meat and it has affected his diet.

He says he’s “nearly vegetarian” and doesn’t want to see any meat that looks like it used to be an animal, according to Calorielab.

Still, he gives into Christmas roast and cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon, which apparently don’t have any faces or tails on them, thus relieving his consciousness.

Seriously though, Ricky’s problem further highlights the fact that many people are dissociated from their food on many levels, from the fact that it did come from an animal to how the animal was treated before slaughter.

And maybe it’s further proof that everyone should be forced to watch the gory videos of factory farms and slaughterhouses.

They do generate discussion and thought.

A few days ago, we brought you the news of how Monty Python comedian and vegetarian John Cleese was dating vegan entertainer Barbie Orr, who claimed to be 27.

Just like people who eat only chicken claim to be vegetarian.

Turns out, Barbie Orr may be full of Barbie bull. Heck, why are we still calling her Barbie? An investigation made by the Daily Mail revealed her real name is Kristine Reinhard and records in the US, also obtained by the same news site, show she was born in 1964-placing her at 45.

Poor John put himself through so much, thinking he had to keep up with a 27 year old-hair plugs, extra vitamins, dental treatments. At least he didn’t have to buy any, ahem, enhancement apparatus, as Barbie/Kristine was very satisfied with that area.

A friend of Cleese told the Daily Mail, “It’s all very embarrassing for John. He’s a proud man, but he is also a sucker for a pretty face. I think a few of his braver friends have warned him to be careful, because nobody wants to see him being made to look silly.”

John has nothing to be embarrassed about. A 69 year old vegetarian who’s looking pretty darn good, hilarious, and in good health. If Heff can convince young women to adore him, we’re sure John will have no problem picking up another woman proclaiming she is young enough to be his granddaughter.

Just ask for a birth certificate next time, John.

Now, for the most important question: Did she lie about being vegan?
