Michael Jackson’s Last Vegetarian Meals Revealed

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 in Food & Drink, Male Singers.

MICHAEL JACKSON DEATH

AEG promoter Randy Phillips has revealed some of the last meals Michael Jackson ate while rehearsing for what would have been 50 sold out concert performances.

Apparently the vegetarian Jackson was so focused, he would forget to eat and Phillips and other members of the crew had to force him to.

“He used to forget to eat because he was so focused and Kenny Ortega and I used to cut up his food and physically feed him,” the UK Mirror quoted Phillips as saying.

Phillips said some of Jackson’s favorite dishes were vegetarian lasagna, steamed broccoli, nut loaf or tofu with chili sauce.

No, it’s not April Fool’s Day and unlike other posts which joked about fake celebrity products, this is the real deal.

NBA legend John Salley has his own organic, vegan, natural food line, John Salley Foods, that he’s promoting.

“Primo Olive Oil” and “Habanero Pepper Sauce” are just two of the products with John’s handsome face on them, along with “Double Baked Herbed Crisps” and “Peach Chitpotle Sauce.”

Speaking of faces, doesn’t John putting his mug on these remind you of all those Paul Newman products that dominate the shelves? Sure would be nice if John set up foundations and charities to help the world like Newman did.

From John Salley Foods website:

“We are a gourmet snack food company on a mission to create products and recipes on a level you can’t ordinarily find at your grocery store. All of our foods are 100% organic, vegan and kosher. No animals were used or harmed in any way in the production of our foods.”

Notably missing are the ants, cow tongue and worms some of his competitors on I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here ate.

“4-time NBA champion and renowned television and film personality John Salley has been a vegan and aspiring chef for many years and has finally decided to bring his own unique take on organic cuisine to the public. John’s flavorful sauces and incredible snack foods prove that delicious treats can be vegan, organic and healthy, surpassing what you’ve known until now.”

Salley’s products aren’t available to order yet, but the site encourages those interested to check back or you can email them for more info on when they’ll be available.

Corey Feldman and wife Susie Sprague leaving Dantanas

Heroes’ star Milo Ventimiglia made a joke about being vegetarian since in the womb because his mother was vegetarian while carrying him and he’s always been veg.

But if Corey Feldman and wife Susie’s kid decides to work in Hollywood, he might give Milo a run for his money as being a vegetarian star since in utero.

Four year old Zen is vegetarian and has lived without meat “from conception,” as Corey calls it.

The actor, who says he spends 80% of his time doing charity work, likes to boast about how he convinced wife Susie to go veg.

“I just don’t understand those meat eaters. How can they justify eating those beautiful animals? And how can they justify the fact that half the world is starving when there is enough food for everybody? We’re feeding grain to cows while people die of hunger. How can people not see that is wrong?”

Contestants from the new NBC show Im a celebrity get me out of here give an interview about the upcoming show

The brief stint Torrie Wilson had on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, has caused the former meat eater to go vegetarian and almost vegan.

Guess those meals of worms, cow tongue, and bull testicles kinda turn off the carnivorous desire in you.

During an interview with the Baltimore Sun, Torrie said, “I’ve changed my entire way of eating after the show. I became a vegetarian, almost vegan. I feel wonderful after having the cleansing I had there and getting off sugar.”

Perhaps a little John Salley rubbed off on her? The basketball legend was reported as being “verbally abusive,” as contestants participated in the eating contests because he wouldn’t stop talking about how nasty the delicacies like bull testicles were.

Torrie is a retired fitness instructor, model, and professional wrestler, so she and Diva Tiffany from Extreme Championship Wrestling should hook up and share some recipes.

Torrie came in second to Lou Diamond Phillips and ahead of Salley, who finished third.

Fred Mascherino, ex Taking Back Sunday guitarist and singer who went on to form the band The Color Fred, is so green he’s “phat” off oil!

Vegan Fred has a car that runs on vegetable oil he gets from a Chinese restaurant. Luckily, they don’t fry in lard, otherwise raising the animal who’s fat will eventually run the car kinda cancels out any eco-friendliness.

Using our own fat? Well, that might reduce at least somebody’s footprint-literally.

“Being vegan is about the best thing a person can do to be “green,” Fred said. “Using less, buying less and eating less is the idea but even just eating a little less meat makes a difference.”

The next obvious question is how Fred pays for his oil. It would be COOL to walk into China Express and say, “I’ll take what I ate this week in fuel.”

Some sources even recommend, “Develop a relationship with the manager or owner of local establishments. Tell him or her that you’re interested in collecting their waste vegetable oil. Offer to do it for free.”

We smell and taste an All You Can Eat Oil Club program forming at businesses soon.
