Bai Ling Katsuya Restaurant–Fur Real Or Fur Fake

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Actresses, Fur, Fur Real Or Fur Fake.

Bai Ling shows off her new sharp hairstyle outside Katsuya restaurant in West Hollywood

Actress Bai Ling smiled for the camera outside Katsuya restaurant in West Hollywood, California while she showed off her new haircut.

Bai’s hair looks great on her, so she has to know that the fur coat she’s wearing would only look great on the original animal owner if it’s the real thing.

Of course anyone looks good in a cruelty-free faux fur coat, whether they’re having a good or bad hair day.

What do you think?

Is Bai fur real?

Or is she (hopefully) faking it?

Cat Stevens Comeback–Hope The “Wild World” Is Still Vegetarian

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Male Musicians, Male Singers.

A Sideman's Journey - Album Launch

Cat Stevens is back!

The singer who changed his name to Yusuf Islam and appeared to retire from music performance has announced a new tour after a 33 year break.

The tour will feature an acoustic set of Cat’s favorites, such as “Wild World,” as well as a preview of his new musical.

Cat became vegetarian in the 70s, but after disappearing from public life for so long, it’s not known whether he follows the diet currently.

Some of his thoughts on the transformation that occurred over 30 years ago, which included going meatless.

“I tried to find out where I really wanted to go at certain points in my life: I studied different spiritual paths; I was a vegetarian and I studied meditation. At certain points I tried to get out of the machine but I didn’t really know where I wanted to go. But when I got finally to learn a few things about Islam, to me it was a missing piece of the puzzle. A lot of people overlook it. Perhaps they’re looking at the wrong kind of picture of Islam, but they don’t see what I see, which is an amazing conversion of what I believed as a Christian, what I read in the Bible, and what I understood about Transcendental Meditation. It all came together in a religion which wasn’t really a religion as such, more a spiritual path — so that made a big impact on me.”

A Muslim Vegetarian Society was exists for those wishing to combine their interests and passion for both faith and vegetarianism.

Tony La Russa Married Wife Elaine For Dog And Cat

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Animal Issues, Athletes-Games-Sports.

MLB: NLDS-St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Dodgers

Tony La Russa and his wife Elaine founded the La Russa Animal Rescue Foundation, which provides vet services to abandoned animals.

La Russa, a vegetarian, loves animals so much, his wife joked that he married her to get to the dog.

“When we got married, he wasn’t as hard-core as I was,” Elaine said. “His mother had a fear of them. I often joke he married me because I came with a dog and cat. Now we have hundreds or thousands.”

The ARF began when La Russa picked up a stray cat at a baseball game.

There were no no-kill shelters in the area of Walnut Creek, California, so Tony started his own.

Almost 20 years later, that kitty and almost 20,000 animals that have been adopted have thanked Tony.

Tony uses his celebrity status to garner corporate sponsors and donations to maintain the 37,000 square foot facility.

Leona Lewis Can “Echo” Being Vegetarian Makes You Sexy

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Female Singers, Food & Drink.

Leona Lewis arrives at the MTV Europe Music Awards

Leona Lewis is about to release her sophomore album, Echo, tomorrow.

We know Leona will break her already impressive record of over 6.5 million albums and 15 million singles with Echo, but if all her success ended, Leona says she would be happy with just a farm and animals.

“That’s truthfully what I’d do. Be a horse lady, learn to give lessons,” Leona said.

Not surprising, given the fact Leona is such an animal lover, who won PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Contest two years in a row.

“Yeah, well, being a vegetarian makes you sexy – what can I say? That was so funny. It’s promoting vegetarianism which is great, and I’m an avid believer in it so that’s all good.”

With talks of an eco clothing line and perfume in the making, this 24 year old is only about to get sexier.

Alicia Silverstone discussion and signing of her new book 'The Kind Diet'

For all of you enjoying your Kind Diet book copy, you’ll be pleased to know another Alicia Silverstone work may be on the way.

But first, she has to announce she has a child on the way.

“Yeah, but I want to wait until I have kids and then write a book for children,” Alicia said, when asked if she planned to write another book.

“I have a lot to say about kids, but I don’t think anyone wants to hear that when you don’t have them! [Laughs.] So I want to have kids and go through, ideally, a whole natural-birth experience.”

Maybe Alicia and Erykah Badu could do some talking about natural birth together? Erykah could teach Alicia how to coherently Tweet while doing so.

Until Alicia puts a vegan baby on board, pick up a copy of That’s Why We Don’t Eat Animals by Ruby Roth to teach your children about a vegetarian lifestyle.
