Pamela Anderson A*Muse Uses Ultrasuede Recycled Bottle Fabric

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 in Actresses, Environment-Eco-Green, Fashion.

ANZFW 2009 - A Muse By Richie Rich Catwalk

Much ado about Pamela Anderson‘s eco friendly clothing line A*Muse has taken place, but what makes Pamela’s swimsuits and shoes more environmentally sound than others?

“We’ve got organic cottons and the boots we’re going to be doing are made out of recycled bottles,” Anderson revealed. “A company called Ultrasuede has this great fabric they make out of recycled bottles which we are going to use.”

Cool!

It’s great to learn something new everyday, and Pamela agrees.

“Every day you learn something new about the world around us,” she says. “I just learned about the mountain of plastic in the ocean. I mean that’s just disgusting. So, if you’re going to do something, do it right – be it choosing the right fabrics or where you are going to get things manufactured.”

“If you put the thought into it at the beginning instead of trying to fix it at the end… instead of having a problem that you have to fix why not do it right in the first place. With A*Muse we want to inspire people to think about it but not to be too preachy, we’re going to have fun with it. Like go vegetarian – we’re doing it anyway so why not incorporate it into it the range?”

A*Muse debuted last week at Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

It’s not yet known where the clothing line will be distributed.

Have an almond milk smoothie on us!

Founded in 1977 by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS), World Vegetarian Day kicks off Vegetarian Awareness Month during October, which is meant to educate and promote the benefits of a vegetarian diet and lifestyle.

Steve-O “Cut Class Not Frogs” Dissection PETA Ad

Steve-O, the MTV Jackass star who’s real name is Stephen Glover, is the kind of mentor everyone needed in high school.

He’s joined forces with PETA in an anti-dissecting campaign that advises kids to “Cut Class Not Frogs.”

And who said the jackasses in class never amounted to anything when they grew up.

According to peta.org, “Every year, nearly 6 million animals, including frogs, rats, pigs, and cats” are dissected in classrooms.

Many alternative animal models exist, including frogs and pigs, and science literature indicates that these alternative methods, such as computer software, have been proven either equivalent of superior to the use of live or dead animals to help them understand biology and anatomy.

Conservative political talk show host Sean Hannity would like to help some farmers during a drought by raising water levels.

But doing so might wipe out an entire species of fish and Federation of Fisherman has warned that killing these fish will also lead to the salmon population demise.

Jon Stewart took a few moments to mock Hannity for his views about the food chain and regulations that created the reservoirs for the farmers to begin with.

“Hannity lent his almost comically oversized head to the very real drought problem that these farmers are facing,” Stewart says opening the segment.

Michelle Obama Sesame Street Marxist, Fascist Vegetarian Agenda

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 in Food & Drink, Humor, Politicians, Videos.

Michelle Obama made an appearance with Elmo and other furry friends on Sesame Street, encouraging children to eat and plant vegetables as part of Sesame Street’s 40th year anniversary on air.

Time has chosen to poke fun of Michelle’s green and veggie agenda, describing it as “radical/Marxist/Fascist” and here are a few humorous highlights from the article:

“Sesame Street abounds with animals—a mighty bird, a plump Snuffleupagus—yet no one suggests harvesting this local bounty, as was good enough for the Pilgrims, to provide growing children with protein. What do you have against meat, Mrs. Obama? Why are you trying to force your extremist vegetarian agenda on our children?”

(Insert Our thoughts: Does a free-range Snuffleupagus make it more humane?)

“Also, you know who else was a vegetarian? Hitler! (Unless he wasn’t. But it sounds good.)”

“Finally, you know what else grows in nature? ACORNs! Coincidence? I think not!”

Watch the clip above to see Michelle visit time.com to read all evidence pointing to Michelle’s visit being a radical agenda to push veggies on our children.
