“The Goode Family” Returns To Comedy Central

Che the vegan dog will once again get to cheat on his diet by eating the stray neighborhood pets.

The Goode Family has returned to television, this time on Comedy Central instead of ABC.

What killed the recycling, veg eating, tree hugging, liberal family?

Big balls, according to Joe Hipps, vice president of TV production at Media Rights Capital.

“Its lead-in was ‘Wipeout,’ a game show with big red balls throwing people into the water,” Hipps said. “And then you’re going into a talky animated show? It never had a chance.”

Much like those poor alley cats never stood a chance when Che got a craving for something other than textured soy dog biscuits.

Wait. Stop joking about that. It’s only a little bit funny.

Now that The Goode Family is on the same cable television station home to the bad boys of  South Park, the family might have the opportunity to get a little dirtier–and that doesn’t mean tending to the organic vegetables in the backyard.

“Even though they were very professional about it, the censorship standards on ABC are very tight,” said John Altschuler, one of executive producers of the show, who said the team received a few dings, what some would call censorship. “You can do an awful lot about sex, but not about political thought. You can’t deal with race at all.”

Looking forward to seeing The Goode Family biking through town at 10PM Mondays on Comedy Central, opening their mouths and offending nearly everyone while reminding them to compost.

Jane Velez-Mitchell Gone To The Vegan Dogs?

20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards - New York City

Much veggie ado is taking place on Jane Velez-Mitchell‘s Facebook.

A fan recently asked Jane, a vegan, if she was thinking of bringing her dogs over to that side, too.

“Hey Jane, I was just wondering, since you own Chihuahuas and your a vegetarian, do you have your dogs eating “meat-free” dog food? There are such products for dogs and cats of owners that are vegans, but dogs and cats are naturally meat eaters, so I think its bad to their health to restrict meat from their diet. What do you think?”

Yo quiero comida sin carne!

Lots of pet owners, including celebrities like Alicia Silverstone, Shahid Kapoor, and Paul McCartney, have put their dogs and cats on vegetarian diets, with special attention being paid to cats since it’s essential to have food that contains taurine, found mainly in chicken.

But vegan dog and cat food exists.

Have you made your pet go veg?

Did Whiskers enjoy the new meatless dish or did he develop a Goode Family dog Che syndrome?

Some afternoon humor for your pleasure via the lol cats at icanhascheezburger.com.

Caption reads, “Lyle dreamed of cheezburgers but belonged to a vegetarian.”

Looks like Lyle the cat has the same problems as Che the dog on The Goode Family.

Doesn’t Lyle’s owner know how to make a veggie burger with soy cheese?

If you have a cat who appreciates a good vegan meal, why not give him or her some kitty grub from vegancats.com?

Gerald Goode Gets Surprise Chicken In Vegetarian Chili

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, July 10th, 2009 in Humor, Videos.

Have you ever taken a sip of cheesy potato soup only to find it has undisclosed bacon in it?

The Goode Family is an ABC comedy that features the politically correct, eco-loving vegan family, the Goodes.

Tonight the father, Gerald Goode,  is in for an unpleasant surprise when he finds out his “meatless” chili actually contains chicken in the episode, “A Goode Game of Chicken.”

He decides to confront a local celebrity chef named “Cranky” about the issue. In the meantime, the Goode vegan dog, Che, who secretly eats neighborhood animals, goes missing.

Above is a clip from “Be Yourself Moment.”

The Goode Family is on ABC tonight and every Fridays at 8:30/7:30c.

“With more emissions, comes more responsiblity.”
—-Gerald Goode, The Goode Family father, telling Ubuntu about the responsibility of driving a car, which is creating a bigger carbon footprint. We’re sure this conversation was preceded by the talk on alcohol and driving and speeding.

The quote about driving was one of our favorite moments along with grandpa Goode saying Ubuntu deserved steak and strippers versus the vegan dinner prepared for him. Grandpa, how could you say that in front your grandson? There are terrible consequences to children who are exposed to the adult life of steak too soon.

What did you guys think of the Goodes? Funny? Frickin’ ridiculously offensive? A little bit in between?

The Goode Family premiers tonight on ABC at 9PM EST.

The Goodes are the impossibly and probably a tad bit annoying politically correct liberal family that go out of their way to retain that reputation. They’re all vegans, including the family dog, Che. Hint: Che is a vegan dog who cheats-on the neighborhood pets! They recycle and compost. They even attempt to adopt a child from Africa, but mistakenly get one from South Africa-who happens to be white.

Some vegan, eco-lovers out there might take offense to how the Goodes are portraying the lifestyle, but hey, if we can’t laugh at ourselves we’re in hotter water than global warming can produce.

The Goode Family was created by Mike Judge, the same guy who brought us Beavis and Butt-head and King of The Hill.

Goode Family Dog Che Helps Control Pet Population

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 in Humor, Misc Artists and Performers.

Spaying and neutering are highly effective ways to control the unwanted pet population. Having a vegan dog secretly munch on neighborhood animals is another.

Mike Judge, creator of Beavis and Butt-Head and King of The Hill, is shedding some satirical light on political correctness in the 21st century with The Goode Family.

The Goodes do everything a stereotypical liberal, educated family does, including recycling and even attempt to adopt a baby from Africa.

Every Goode is a vegan, including the family dog, Che. However, Che isn’t too thrilled about his diet and secretly munches on stray animals in the neighborhood when no one is looking, as you’ll witness is the above video.

The Goode Family premiers on ABC May 27th.
