Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher On Worst Dressed List

59th Berlin Film Festival - 'Happy Tears' Premiere

Celebrities may have tons of money in the bank, but some of them aren’t using it to hire a good wardrobe coordinator, especially a compassionate coordinator.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher currently top the worst dressed list for PETA, in a contest that’s running through March 2nd.

“She may be a cougar, but that’s not helping fur-loving Demi Moore in the eyes of animal lovers,” PETA said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Demi is the first fur lady, while her husband Ashton comes in second because he was spotted “skulking around Sundance last month wearing a gigantic coat made of coyote fur.”

The competition, which awards the dishonor to celebs who sport every animal in the forest, crowned Aretha Franklin as queen last year with Eva Longoria Parker, Kate Moss, and Lindsay Lohan not far behind her.

Pink’s Ex-Hubby Carey Hart Gets Inked Not Minked

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 in Athletes-Games-Sports, Business, Fur, Reality TV.

careyhartpetafur721Ladies we know you don’t get enough of your naked men from PETA, but here’s a little something to satisfy.

Carey Hart, ex-husband to singer Pink, has recently teamed up with PETA to raise awareness of using fur in fashion by inviting you to consider wearing your own permanent coat-of tattoos.

“No one’s expecting you to be the perfect citizen…just living consciously [as much as you can].”

Hart got into animal rights through Pink, and the two of them own three dogs.

“It’s just ridiculous, you know?” he says of the fur industry. “It’s like you’re gonna destroy animals so that you can look cool in the nightclubs or you can look cool walking down the street in New York. You know I don’t get behind that. I think it’s very petty and very shallow. And then once I saw the investigation and the actual process it just disgusted me.”

Kim Kardashian Gives Up Fur, Keeps Reggie Bush Lovin’

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, January 30th, 2009 in Fur, Reality TV.

2009 Moves Magazine Super Bowl Party

If you’ve got a good man, then you’d better bend over backwards to keep him. Especially if you’re in female shark Hollywood and Kim Kardashian learned this lesson real quick.

She’s become the latest celebrity to announce she’s shunning fur, according to Contact Music. Why? If you recall us telling you, her sister Khloe has done the same, posing naked in an anti-fur ad for PETA. It’s important to keep up with the Kardashians, you know.

An even bigger reason is that her boyfriend, New Orlean’s Saints running back Reggie Bush, threatened to dump her if she didn’t. Apparently the two were driving past an anti-fur rally at the Sundance Film Festival when they were bombarded by activists, screaming, “She’s in here!”

Bush said, “This is humiliating. I can’t go out with you.”

So Kim ditched the fur vest and kept her man.

Kim keeps gettin’ lovin’. Less animals are dying. You couldn’t ask for a happier ending.

Kellie Pickler Is A Donna Salyers’ Fabulous Faux Fur Girl

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 in Business, Fashion, Female Singers, Fur.

42nd Annual CMA Awards - Arrivals

Yes, we’re still talking about New Year’s Eve, but then again, we’re still paying off the credit card bill from Christmas.

If you watched Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, you may have spotted country singer and recently turned vegetarian Kellie Pickler wearing a faux fur coat.

The faux fur coat was confirmed to be from Cincinnati-based Donna Salyers’ Fabulous Furs, a company that really likes to fake it-from fake fur to fake leather to fake lambskin, every piece of clothing imaginable was created without harming any animal whatsoever!

Some argue that fake fur shouldn’t be worn because others might like the style and buy a real one instead. But if word is gotten out on all the lovely fake furs there are to choose from, perhaps a takeover will happen in fashion where the coats worn by models are as fake as their bosoms.

If you’re going to fur it, faux fur it!

600-cobra-starship

Please excuse our butchering of the beautiful Spanish language, but if it gets your attention to a good cause, it was worth it.

Hottie Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship is cuddling up with one of his favorite bunnies (as good as he looks, he’s gotta be giving Hugh Hefner a run with several) for an anti-fur campaign for PETA.

If you’re wondering where you remember Gabe, it was probably Cobra Starship’s song “Snakes on a plane (Bring It)” for the movie Snakes on a Plane. View the music video for more hottness and refresh your memory.

Back to the cause. Gabe babe is a vegetarian (bonus points) who doesn’t want anyone eating or wearing his little friends, like Thumper, shown here.

If you’d like to own something Gabe and the other band members have touched, enter to win a drumhead used by bandmate Nate Novarro and autographed by everyone in Cobra Starship before January 15th.

You’ll be notified by January 22nd if you’ll have the item laced with all of their lovely DNA.

Meatless Mouthful: Patricia Arquette Can’t Envision Fur

“I don’t like fur. … My mom had a [fur] jacket from the 50s …. But the concept of buying fur today doesn’t make any sense to me. I’ve seen people in fur coats, and in my wild mind, I’m hoping someone will throw red paint on them!”
—-“Medium” actress Patricia Arquette on animal issues that are important to her. She recently agreed to do the above ad for PETA promoting the spaying and neutering of pets. Throwing paint on fur wearing celebs? Kid Rock ain’t gonna like that comment!

Dennis Rodman Would Rather Be Fired Than Wear Mink

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 in Athletes-Games-Sports, Business, Fur, Reality TV.

rodmanthink-72

A few years ago, Dennis Rodman wasn’t even wearing a jersey when he agreed to do an anti-fur ad for PETA.

So why are we talking about a retired basketball player famous for dressing in bridal gowns who got naked over three years ago? Because he’s back in the limelight as one of the contestants on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice.

Rodman, along with other celebs like Tom Green and recently fur shunning Khloe Kardashian, will have the pleasurable experience of being humiliated by the world’s greatest real estate investor who also holds the title for the World’s Worst Hairdo.

Rodman has already broken boundaries outside of the boardroom. He was the first man that had enough balls to get naked and almost show his…well you know.

There are rumors that he sometimes followed a vegetarian diet, but it’s definitely been confirmed he detests the use of fur in fashion.

According to Contact Music, Rodman said, “furriers have pushed free furs” on him over the years, and he’s always refused. He even said that he was always embarrassed when an ex-wife wore furs.

With a set of ethics like those, there’s no reason why the former NBA bad boy shouldn’t be “hired.”

Karl Lagerfeld: Kill Fur Coat Before Fur Coat Kills You!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, January 5th, 2009 in Fashion, Fur, Not So Vegetarian.

Fashion Group International Presents The 25th Annual Night Of Stars

Where is Tim Gunn and his anti-fur video when you need him?

Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld recently defended the use of fur in the industry.

“In a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and clothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish,” he told The Telegraph.

Although he doesn’t personally wear fur, he insists that people make a living from hunting and “killing those beasts who would kill us if they could.”

Lagerfeld’s statements might make sense if we all lived in caveman days. But someone should inform him that fur today is produced in factories and much of it comes from countries with no ethical standards whatsoever as to how the animals are treated.

It’s a pretty sure thing that today’s Hollywood starlets aren’t thinking, “Darn it, that fox is going to eat me. Make me a coat, quick!” Not to mention how ferocious the 4 lb. mink are.

He agrees that animals should be killed “nicely” as much as possible and admits he’s a wuss when it comes to eating them.

“I can hardly eat meat because it has to look like something what it was not when it was alive,” he said.

The last time we checked, fur looks the same on or off the original live animal.
