Bethenny Frankel‘s long awaited “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” PETA ad has finally arrived.

This is what every real housewife should be wearing.

Not long ago, Bethenny felt the need to cover up–with fur.

Then an encounter with some anti-fur protesters made her rethink her fashion decisions.

“Since then, I have really been against it. I’m cleaning out my closets–trim, everything.”

Is it time to clean out your own closet from all things cruel, including fur and leather?

Catherine Zeta Jones stepped into the chilly New York weather arming herself with a long fur coat.

Catherine will be starring in the upcoming Trevor Nunn production of A Little Night Of Music.

A Little Night Of Music is great, but a little fur trim is horrible.

If that’s a real fur Catherine’s wearing, it’s more than a trim, but The Mask of Zorro actress surely knows anyone voted one of the most beautiful people will land on the ugliest list for wearing a hide that’s not hers.

Is Catherine making a bad fashion statement by wearing a cruel real fur coat?

Or is she faking it?

Animal activist and vegetarian Brigitte Bardot has never been hesitant to express her opinions about the fur industry.

And during a recent interview when she was asked what she thought about women who wore fur, Bardot responded, “The women who carry fur these days are idiots. Wild animals are bred in small cages where they go crazy because they cannot lead any kind of natural lives. They are imprisoned in concentrated breeding farms. Minks are gassed, foxes are electrocuted… this complete industry is cruel, barbaric and absolutely useless.”

Point taken.

If you’re the compassionate and intelligent type, you’re obviously anti real fur and would probably love to know what stores and companies sell the real deal.

When making your next fashion decisions, refer to the Humane Society of the United State’s list of fur free designers and retailers.

Abercrombie & Fitch, for example, stated in an email in 2007 that all of its furs were fake.

And Ed Hardy even went so far as to state, “As someone who cares about animals, I am deeply offended by and opposed to the inherent cruelty of animal fur.”

So guess that means Jon Gosselin‘s favorite clothing line is safe.

Take a look at the list, carry it in your pocket when making your business decisions and never worry about Brigitte calling you an idiot.

But people change.

Could Aretha have wised up and realized that a diva of soul wearing fur is like a diva wearing the same outfit twice.

Actress and Playboy model Shauna Sand stepped out Madeo’s restaurant in Beverly Hills, California recently with a companion on her arm.

Let’s hope this companion is as phony as a Playmate’s breasts and Shauna is sporting fake fur.

Although Hugh Hefner‘s girlfriends may not mind being cramped up in the mansion, animals kept in cages on fur farms definitely mind their lack of freedom and pain and suffering they endure when killed for the pelts.

Olympic skater Tai Babilonia recently skated in Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink in New York City to support a PETA “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur,” campaign. Not only does is this woman an incredible beauty and athlete, she’s smart and compassionate to know that wearing fur makes a triple lutz look like a triple klutz. Of course, Sinitta probably knows the only way to wear a fur is to wear one more artificial than John and Edward’s (aka “Divas of Dublin”) gel preserved hairdos.

Actress Bai Ling smiled for the camera outside Katsuya restaurant in West Hollywood, California while she showed off her new haircut.

Bai’s hair looks great on her, so she has to know that the fur coat she’s wearing would only look great on the original animal owner if it’s the real thing.

Of course anyone looks good in a cruelty-free faux fur coat, whether they’re having a good or bad hair day.
