Heart of Dixie actress Claudia Lee wore one of Canadian designer Dalia MacPhee‘s environmentally friendly gowns for an underwater shoot to promote her Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

MacPhee has been described by Entertainment Tonight as ‘Couture with a conscious’ and she is donating proceeds from her animal-free designs to several charitable organizations.

Ashley Bell traveled to Cambodia to film Love and Bananas, a documentary about the plight of Asian elephants in captivity.

The country has its share of issues that adversely affect elephants and other animals in the wild, from circuses and zoos with poor welfare standards to deforestation.

But there is much being done to combat these problems. The Cambodian Wildlife Sanctuary that provides a home for rescued elephants and alternative jobs for loggers are being drafted.

And Cambodia’s culinary experience is a beautiful one in itself, especially when it comes to the fresh produce.

Ami James, tattoo artist on the TLC series NY Ink, knows anyone man enough to get a decorated with a needle at his shop would never think about abusing an animal.

James has partnered with PETA in an ad promoting the welfare of animals.

“Only Cowards Abuse Animals,” reads the ad that also mentions “to dogs and cats, people are often the biggest bullies.”
