“I still have plenty of vices, but alcohol isn’t one of them. It’s probably just down to sleep and diet. If you travel long haul a lot or don’t sleep much, it’s not going to last very long, that’s for sure. I’m pretty healthy so I think that helps a lot. I’ve been that way for a long time – 20 solid years of eating vegetarian/vegan and taking care of myself. That probably helps the preservation process.”

Bill Maher On Horse Meat Scandal (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, March 4th, 2013 in Comedians, Food & Drink, TV Hosts.

Bill Maher took on the hilarious challenge of discussing the recent horse meat appearing in the food supply controversy.

Several stores in the UK were found to have been carrying meat labeled as beef that contained horse meat and most recently, IKEA has come under fire for stocking meatballs that tested positive as well.

Maher, in his usual cynical way, used the scandal to remind everyone that given the state of food labeling today, it should be no surprise such as mixup was made. And if we’re used to eating every other animal on the planet, why are we so fussy about horses?

Maher has the answer.
