“Portlandia” Renewed Again For More Vegan Episodes

Portlandia has been renewed by IFC for an addition two more seasons.

The hilarious skits set in liberal and progressive Portland, Oregon have poked fun of many things in pop culture and you may have your own list of top Portlandia moments.

Vegetarian Star has a few favorite Portlandia scenes that have given the vegetarian movement a little plug.

He recently purchased Tully’s, a rival to Starbucks Coffee shops, a decision that reflects his belief that the neighborhood coffee shop is fundamental in everyone’s lives (or at least everyone who drinks coffee).

At home, he and his family practice this same local concept by raising their own chickens and gardening.

Myq Kaplan, comedian known for weaving vegan references in his stand up routines, has released another album.

Meat Robot was released yesterday and was inspired partially by Kaplan’s love of faux meat.

According to Broadway World, Meat Robot features Kaplan covering topics such as, “his grandmother’s attempts to make grammar fun, how to avoid being axe-murdered and his love for fake meat names.”

PETA has once again named its top vegetarian friendly major league baseball parks.

The Philadelphia Phillies’ are unlikely to ever be removed from the list as they have made the cut for several years.

For the second year in a row, Citizens Bank Park is the number one place to score a good plant-based meal while your favorite player scores a home run.

David Murdock, the 90 year old billionaire and chairman of Dole Foods knows a thing or two about longevity.

The man who’s net worth is valued at $2.4 billion according to Forbes is proof that wealth is just as much about the foods you deposit into your body as the money your put into the bank.

A vegetarian for most of his life, Murdock practices what he preaches, consuming the product he peddles in copious amounts daily.

According to an article at the Huffington Post, Murdock eats 20 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, blending most of these produce items into smoothies.
