“Businessweek” Predicts Hummus Is The Next Salsa

Sabra hummus is the official dip of the National Football League, and according to a recent article in Businessweek, the trend of the chickpea dip picking up popularity among sports enthusiasts, party goers and snackers alike may make it surpass salsa as the most common and easiest convenient food to obtain and serve.

The article discusses PepsiCo’s recent campaign with the NFL that produced a television commercial encouraging Americans to “dip life to the fullest,” and use it on many traditional game time foods like potato chips and chicken wings.

She was heading off to the Oakley Tour De France roller racing challenge where she was pitted against Swans AFL Player Ryan O’Keefe, when she picked up a few items from the grocery designed to fuel her day’s battle.

“Obviously due to my immense peak athletic fitness level, we are very competitively and well matched — Joke!” Peck said of her competition.

Maybe a glass of non-dairy milk gave her the extra edge.

Australian cricketer Peter Siddle became vegetarian on the advice of a girlfriend.

His team mates know where he stands and are used to him requesting plant-based food or meals with modifications while on the road or dining out together.

They must respect his diet because he hasn’t earned any derogatory nicknames for it.

But the next time they order out together, he may jokingly be asked if he’s getting the veggie crab dish.

The reference refers to a time when the guys were eating out and Siddle got a surprise in what he thought was a vegetable roll.

Mary McCartney has a not so vegetarian earlier memory of eating snails in France with the family.

Thankfully, that moment was replaced by many more with her mother in the kitchen preparing plant-based meals like vegetable soup.

“I’d watch her make a cream of tomato soup, when the tomatoes were at their plumpest,” she told The Independent.

“She’d add onions and mushrooms and blend them all together into this gorgeous hearty soup. I can still remember the beautiful smells.”
