Quantcast Vegetarian StarPeter Siddle Vegetarian Sushi Experience Left Him Feeling Crabby

Peter Siddle

Australian cricketer Peter Siddle became vegetarian on the advice of a girlfriend.

His team mates know where he stands and are used to him requesting plant-based food or meals with modifications while on the road or dining out together.

They must respect his diet because he hasn’t earned any derogatory nicknames for it.

But the next time they order out together, he may jokingly be asked if he’s getting the veggie crab dish.

The reference refers to a time when the guys were eating out and Siddle got a surprise in what he thought was a vegetable roll.

Clarke explained:

“He is the Vegan of our team whose favorite meal – is soft-shell crab.”

Siddle had asked for the mushroom sushi roll.

After taking one bite, he discovered it contained crab too.

Thank goodness that at most sushi establishments, there are either several vegetarian rolls to choose from or those that can be made to your liking.

Choose from veggies like avocado, carrots, asparagus and cucumber.

Add a touch of protein with fried tofu or inari.

By asking ahead and verifying what goes into the rolls, you’ll leave feeling satisfied–not hungry and “crabby.”
