Paul McCartney has given his support to an anti-whaling campaign that urges the Norwegian government not to lift a 25 year ban on commercial whaling.

McCartney said, “It’s time to end the cruel slaughter of whales and leave these magnificent creatures alone. In the 21st century how can we even contemplate killing whales – or any animal – in such barbaric ways? Governments should act on their responsibilities and protect these beautiful creatures.”

NEW YORK - MAY 18: Actress Jane Lynch poses with cheerleaders during The Glee Cheerleaders exclusive performance at Fox's Upfront presentation at New York City Center on May 18, 2009 in New York City. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images for Fox)

Jane Lynch, who plays the cunning and caustic cheerleading coach on the Fox television series Glee, would rather beat the crap out of Vocal Adrenaline than an animal.

Her character, Sue Sylvester, had a few lines on the Mash Up episode that originally threatened Glee coach Will Schuester by letting him bond with a cat before ending its life.

Um, yeah, even if this is television, that doesn’t belong in any conversation.

“I’m not going to say that,” Lynch said of her lines. “I work for PETA. I can’t say kill the cat.”

The script was changed to reflect adopting an animal from a shelter and punching Schuester instead. Nice work!

“I’ll need to see the set list for sectionals, after all. I want them on my desk warm from the laminator at 5 p.m. If it is one minute late, I will go to the animal shelter and get you a kitty cat. I will let you fall in love with that kitty cat. And then on some dark, cold night, I will steal away into your home and punch you in the face.”

Daniel Bryan has been ousted from the WWE!

Because removing a vegan from any sports competition is a major blow to vegetarians everywhere, PETA has personally written a letter to Vince McMahon, chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, asking for Bryan to be reinstated.

“Lots of athletes, including baseball slugger Prince Fielder, the NBA’s Raja Bell, MMA fighters K.J. Noons and Mac Danzig, and Olympic Legend Carl Lewis, show that vegetarians often leave meat-eaters in the dust, gnawing on their greasy chicken wings as they wonder what hit them. But Bryan represents the quintessential vegan badass.”

Knut may look as calm as cucumbers in this photo, but a representative from PETA says he and his polar bear mates in the German zoo are stressed, and are suffering from panic attacks and repetitive behavioral movements.

“He (Knut) and his companion Gianna are definitely displaying behavioral problems,” said Frank Albrecht, a zoo expert for PETA’s German branch who also recommended the two not get it on because they are so closely related.

Albrecht, along with the animal rights group, is calling for an end to breeding polar bears in captivity and keeping them in German zoos, period.

Albrecht and PETA claim that of the 34 polar bears in captivity in the 11 German zoos, between 75% and 90% show signs of being disturbed.

So it’s pretty much unanimous that drunk driving is one of the stupidest acts to commit, as it puts everyone on the road at risk of death, not to mention the idiot who’s driving.

Don’t forget there’s one more reason to round up all the Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Students Against Drunk Driving and Parakeets Against Drunk Driving members in your neighborhood cause that offender may hurt an animal as well.

Animal rights group In Defense of Animals is ripping actor Chris Klein for allegedly Driving Under the Influence with a dog in the car.
