Tom Scholz Receives PETA Compassionate Action Award

He’s also one of the original founding members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The musician most known for his work with the band Boston recently received the Compassionate Action Award from the animal rights organization.

Jillian Michaels Humane Society Please Adopt

Jillian Michaels would like to remind everyone that shelter pups are the “Biggest Losers” when people opt to buy from a pet shop instead of adopting.

The co-host of the popular NBC reality weight loss TV show is appearing on billboards for the Humane Society of the United States to encourage anyone getting or giving a dog this holiday season to support their local shelter or rescue group instead of a puppy mill.

Twilight actress Nikki Reed was the host of the first annual “Friends Across The Border” event for Baja Animal Sanctuary.

The sanctuary is northern Mexico’s only no-kill animal shelter.

Friends Across the Border took place at West Hollywood’s Nine Zero One Salon where guest enjoyed food from Cibo Verde and beverages by Caliche Rum while bidding on items to benefit the shelter.

Not of family of cats, of course, but a family that loves and adores its four-legged members as much as its two-legged ones.

The Homefront actor was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he showed a photograph of his family holding their beloved sets of paws and unveiled his personal calendar featuring him and felines.

Alec Baldwin and his wife, yoga guru to the stars Hilaria Baldwin, have written a letter to the officials of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, suggesting they find a replacement for the SeaWorld float in this year’s festivities.

The Baldwins are among many celebrities who have voiced their concerns over the marine park’s policies on the confinement of animals, as well as its safety protocols to protect trainers.

Iggy Pop Wants Michigan To Protect Wolves

Iggy Pop is backing a movement in his home state to prevent wolves from being hunted for sport, a measure many current residents of Michigan agree with.

The iconic singer supports the Keep Michigan Wolves Protected campaign and has written a letter to Governor Rick Snyder in protest of the state’s first sanctioned wolf hunt in decades.

Such a hunt has not taken place since the animals were put in protective status in the 1960s.
