Fran Drescher has been a great champion for the vegan lifestyle ever since she lost weight and gained a ton of energy by eliminating animal products from her diet.

Anne Hathaway attended a New York city premiere of Les Miserables wearing a pair of animal-friendly, non-leather boots designed by Tom Ford.

The shoes, described as anything from “bondage boots” to something that “resembled both a knee brace and shin guard” may not fit everyone’s description as a great fashion statement, but Kudos to both Hathaway and Ford for choosing materials that are kinder to animals.

Alicia Silverstone is celebrating Hanukkah with a festival of vegan recipes!

The actress, author and animal rights champion posted several meatless, egg and dairy-free versions of classic Jewish dishes to her blog The Kind Life last year and has been Tweeting links to those recipes.

“I love the story of Hanukkah,” Silverstone writes. “To me, it is about making the most of the resources you have. I like to think of this holiday as a reminder to turn off lights when you don’t need them and practice using less energy in your daily life at home and at work.”

Mayim Bialik has shared a delicious recipe for vegan donuts with PETA.

Sofganyot is a traditional Hanukkah treat that Bialik has learned–like many other of her favorite comfort foods–to veganize.

During an interview in 2010, Bialik said these donuts were one of several ways she “indulges” during the holidays.

“For Chanukah, eight days of fried latkes with vegan sour cream. And we make vegan sofganyot (israeli doughnuts) too.”

Alicia Silverstone can’t stop talking about how sexy her man is now that he’s a father.

Female First reports the vegan actress says that since the arrival of their first son, Bear Blu, she’s found him growing more and more attractive each day.

“I thought my husband was sexy before but watching how he is with Bear now. he’s all man when Bear is in his arms,” Silverstone said.

Dita Von Teese can’t enough of the veggie shops located in the 18-block district of San Francisco Bay area known as Haight Street.

When in the area, Von Teese said she patronizes her, “favorite vintage stores and stop in the juice bars and vegan restaurants for snack.”*
