The Big Bluff Online Triva Game Launch Hosted By Perez Hilton

Pamela Anderson recently Tweeted about the International Bird Rescue’s efforts in the recent Gulf Coast oil spill from the exploded Deepwater Horizon Rig.

“Please support International Bird Rescue’s ongoing rescue work by donating, becoming a member or adopting a bird.”

During the Big Bluff online Trivia game launch the actress told Poptarts, “It’s terrible, it’s awful. It feels like it is the end of the world to me. I’m working with international bird rescue, they’re expecting (it to get a lot worse) which is unbelievable. It’s the worst thing that could happen, and we won’t know what the effects are until later.”

If you’ve ever wondered how wonderful people like the IBRRC work to rescue birds during oil disasters, you’re not alone. Such questions like “How long does it take to wash a bird?” and “What is the survival rate for birds that are collected for rehabilitation?” may be the first that come to mind.

Lea Michel as Rachel Berry in "Glee"

Lea Michele as Rachel Berry in "Glee"

Glee is bringing Lea Michele‘s real life characteristics into her Rachel Berry character.

On a recent episode, Rachel is lured into the parking lot by Jesse, and she experiences an onslaught of chicken fetuses to her face, or at least that’s what some chick from rival singing club Vocal Adrenaline says:

“I hear you’re a vegan, Berry. The souls of those poor egg fetuses are all on your conscience now.”

Actually, most eggs from the supermaket are the unfertilized products of a chicken’s reproductive cycle, so Miss Vocal Adrenaline needs to study her biology more between after school practices.

Unless she got them from a free-range farm where the chick and the rooster actually engaged in Hanky Panky. In that case, then, yeah, those poor would have been chickens. Free-range chickens good, killing potential chicks bad. Rachel Berry can’t win for losing.

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 in Actresses, Fur, Models.

55th Annual Drama Desk Awards

Brooke Shields is not making the list of favorite models this week or this year for that matter. It’s bad enough she became a meat eater again after 16 years of being vegetarian, but now she’s getting excited about designing her own custom made fur coat. Earlier this month, she visited Kopenhagen Studio, a creative fur workshop in Kopenhagen to pick the mink hide of her choice.

“Wearing fur may be associated with something grandmotherish. Something you wear when you visit the opera, or if you are a rock star and wears it inside out. But I will advocate that both my generation and the younger generation can wear fur.”

Lindsay Lohan Hides Her SCRAM Anklet As She Hits The Pool!

Lindsay Lohan has been rumored to be swapping alcohol for Kombucha tea since being slapped on the wrist, literally, with a SCRAM bracelet, a device that monitors her alcohol consumption, after a probation hearing about her 2nd DUI conviction.

When the words healthy and organic are slapped onto something a celebrity is consuming, the instinct is to instantly pick it up and pseudo experiment on yourself to see if it works. However, according to a Dr. on the Mayo Clinic’s website, you may be better off consuming heart healthy wine in moderation when you’re not driving than drinking Kombucha tea.

There was the satire version of The Last Supper involving vegan Judas (of course the non meat eater is portrayed as the evil, traitor).

Now PETA is promoting another veggie version of the meal featuring Jesus and the disciples, this time putting Paul McCartney and Pamela Anderson at the table, an exhibit on display at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Pamela is, as would be expected, revealing more skin than Paul.

“The Diner” was created inside a 28 foot 1955 Airstream trailor by a University of Texas at Dallas professor. One side of the trailor features The Last Supper scene, while visitors can take a look on another to view pictures of factory farms.

55th Annual Drama Desk Awards - Arrivals

If you had any doubts about Anne Hathaway‘s current vegetarian status (as she’s always flip flopping), look no further than this article because nothing says I’m no longer vegetarian than discussing how much fun it is to feel up on chicken with a buttered hand.

This coming a little after a year after announcing she was a full blown vegan on television

“The other day I roasted a chicken that I have got to say was awesome. But I used a lot of butter and it’s not hard to make chicken taste good when you use a lot of butter. I am not a very imaginative cook, I follow recipes, but I really do enjoy it. That and baking. I used to be a vegetarian but obviously I am not a very committed vegetarian when you roast chicken.”

But wait! There’s more chicken stories and tales of eating crickets and working up the balls to eat intestines.

If there’s any time to emulate celebrity fashion and keep your ethics about animals and environment, it’s now.

More and more stars, vegetarian or not, have been seen wearing organic cotton, faux hides and sustainable stockings in public.

Treehugger has compiled a few favorites, including this Vaute Couture vegan coat by designer Leanne Hilgart worn by Emily Deschanel on Bones.

Called the “El,” Deschanel is said to own it in the recycled black color as well.

Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hathcher and Marcia Cross purchased FEED bags for the entire television series crew. The bags, made from recycled cotton, not only help the environment, but humans too, as each different style of FEED is designed to assist in hunger in various parts of the world.

EMA And Yes To Carrots Give “The Garden Challenge” To Students

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, May 27th, 2010 in Actresses, Children, Gardening, Videos.

The Environmental Media Association and Yes To Carrots teamed up to launch “The Garden Challenge” that encourages students to get acquainted with growing their own produce in a contest where schools competed for a gardening grant.

Students uploaded videos explaining why a garden would be a great addition to their schools.

Daryl Hannah, Wendie Malick, and Rosario Dawson all have words to say in the video at CBS as they’re outside among students and cabbage.

Hannah thinks a school garden will make students less fearful of vegetables.

“I become a vegetarian when I was 11, but I was always afraid of vegetables,” Hannah said. “It wasn’t until I actually started growing them that I was not afraid to eat them.”

A video of the event can be viewed at CBS.
