As previously mentioned, Brandon Routh is playing Todd Ingram, one of the evil ex boyfriends Scott Pilgrim fights in the movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Ingram is a vegan, so it’s hard to imagine him as “evil.”

It was previously thought that Ingram had only vegan mind reading powers, but Routh is now explaining that he’s given telekinetic powers–and smacks Scott around with them.

Here’s Routh explaining a little more about his role:

“I play Todd Ingram in the film. The film stars Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, and he has to defeat seven evil exes of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character, in order to continue dating her. The seven exes basically challenge Michael, and I play one of them. I’m a vegan rock star with a blonde wig. Because I’m vegan, I have these special powers, the power of telekinesis. So, I end up having this huge bass battle with Michael Cera, as we’re playing dueling bass guitars, and I throw him around telekinetically threw walls and such. And my blonde wig becomes a faux-hawk whenever I use my powers, and then flattens back down when I’m not using them.”

Wouldn’t you love to use telekinetic powers to throw the person who put chicken broth in your restaurant made vegetable soup?

Did you hear the rumor that Ted Danson was a vegan?

It’s absolutely NOT true.

“Oh yeah, no, I’m an actor,” Danson told GQ magazine. “Which means one week I’m vegan, the next I don’t know.”

He emphasized his reluctance to be vegetarian even more during the interview when he jokingly said he would order the California condor or gorilla, deciding on scallops in the end.

No, not even sharing the Bored To Death set with vegan Jason Schwartzman has pulled Danson to the veg side yet.

Danson does consider himself an environmentalist and narrates End of the Line, a film about the depletion of fish.

Eric Stoltz admitted to Mother Nature Network that he first became a vegetarian just to annoy the rents.

“Because I loved animals, and it pi**ed off my parents, which I loved,” Stoltz said.

After following the diet for 25 years, Stoltz has realized there are other benefits besides making mom and dad fuming mad.

“It was a myriad of reasons that kept snowballing over the years,” he said and described his diet as the “greenest way to live.”

Richard Gere recently arrived in Bodh Gaya in Bihar to attend a 5 day discourse on Buddhism and has met with the Dalai Lama, according to Thaindian News.

Gere has expressed an interest in making the city more vegetarian friendly to appeal to both residents and tourists.

“I am strongly in favour of turning Bodh Gaya into a vegetarian zone,” Gere said.

Wednesday evening he participated in a march organized by Tibetans for Vegetarian Society, urging others in the city to turn to a vegetarian lifestyle.

“Gere’s support to our cause will definitely create awareness and mobilize support of locals as well as tourists from abroad in making Bodh Gaya a vegetarian zone,” Tenzin Kunga Luding of Tibetans for Vegetarian Society said.

Tibetans for Vegetarian Society asks people to abstain from buying, selling, or consuming any form of meat during their pilgrimage tour in the holy land.

Bollywood star John Abraham is set to produce a film on tiger preservation, according to One India Entertainment.

The movie, The Return of the Tiger, will be directed by Mike Pandey.

“I decided to produce the film because I truly believe tigers are one of the most magnificent creatures on this planet,” Abraham said. “And if we don’t take quick and immediate action to preserve them there will be no tigers left.”

Some experts estimate there are only about 4,000 tigers remaining in the wild, compared to 100,000 existing a century ago.

It’s no surprise that Abraham is so interested in wildlife preservation, given his history of commitment to animals.

A noted vegetarian, he’s was nominated for PETA’s Sexiest male vegetarian last year.

The Return of the Tiger is expected to be screened at film festivals and wildlife preservation summits.

Ed Begley Jr. knows being vegetarian is a great complement to his other environmentally friendly behaviors like having solar panels in his home and getting from point A to B on a bicycle.

But is Ed driving an eco-friendly car with animal un-friendly seats?

“Watching a recent episode of Living With Ed, it looks like Ed is now driving (or more likely Rachelle’s car) a level IV winter gray metallic 2010 Prius. I was a little surprised that he chose leather seats, being the vegan that he is.”

Granted, not everyone environmentalist is vegetarian, but with the environmentally unfriendly chemicals going into the tanning process to make leather not biodegradable, you’d think most hybrid worshippers would demand hideless vehicles.

Paul McCartney insisted his luxury Lexus be built with cloth seats versus leather.

Toyota 2010 Priuses come with either leather or  non-leather seating.
