Quantcast Vegetarian StarEd Begley Jr. “Living With Ed” Reveals Leather Seat Prius

2009 Environmental Media Awards

Ed Begley Jr. knows being vegetarian is a great complement to his other environmentally friendly behaviors like having solar panels in his home and getting from point A to B on a bicycle.

But is Ed driving an eco-friendly car with animal un-friendly seats?

From priuschat.com:

“Watching a recent episode of Living With Ed, it looks like Ed is now driving (or more likely Rachelle’s car) a level IV winter gray metallic 2010 Prius. I was a little surprised that he chose leather seats, being the vegan that he is.”

Granted, not everyone environmentalist is vegetarian, but with the environmentally unfriendly chemicals going into the tanning process to make leather not biodegradable, you’d think most hybrid worshippers would demand hideless vehicles.

Paul McCartney insisted his luxury Lexus be built with cloth seats versus leather.

Toyota 2010 Priuses come with either leather or  non-leather seating.

Which one is Ed cruising around town in?

  1. Living With Ed Production Staff Says:

The 2010 Prius seen in the show belongs to Ed’s wife Rachelle. For anyone that watches the show, this is part of the struggle that exists between Ed’s green life and his wife’s not-so-green world. The interior of her new Prius is just another area where the two of them cross paths between form and function.

Ed isn’t actually vegan anymore – sadly he stated he started eating fish 🙁
