2008 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction - Show

Joan Jett was spotted sporting her Farm Sanctuary T-shirt!

Noticeably missing from Joan’s side was her pig companion, but still, he was with her in spirit!

Farm Sanctuary strives to reduce or eliminate everything uncool about animal welfare,  and campaigns cover such issues as promoting and getting Prop 2 passed, ending the production of foie gras, and getting people to stop having dairy hookups.

Premiere Of Sony Pictures Classics Rachel Getting Married - Arrivals

Several vegetarian and vegan hip hop stars will be making guest appearances in the film, In Pursuit Of A Green Planet, a documentary on food choice, health, and the planet.

In the film, Keith Tucker travels the country on a Greyhound bus powered by recycled vegetable oil while he makes the transition from eating the average American diet to a totally organic, vegan one.

Tucker brings along some adolescents who are already experiencing diet related health problems and are at a crucial point to change their lives forever. Not only do the kids get lessons in making themselves and the planet healthier, they get the privilege of meeting some awesome veggie hip hop stars along the way, like Saul Williams, Persia White, Justin Bua, Stic Man, and KRS One.

According to hiphoppress.com:

“The goal of the “Pursuit of a Green Planet” documentary is to take an inside look at how the food we eat affects our health and tie healthy living back to the origins of Hip Hop. As Hip Hop was a pioneering art form for the urban community looking for a better life in the late 70s, “Pursuit of a Green Planet” brings those ideals full circle by incorporating Hip Hop into the Green Movement.”

Paul McCartney Says He’ll Live To See 100 Years

McCartney Family Launch Meat Free Monday - Photocall

Paul McCartney is so confident his vegetarian diet will keep him healthy and disease free, he’s planning for his 100th birthday bash.

Monsters and Critics reported a friend said, “Paul has a hunch he’ll still be here to mark his 100th year. He leads a pretty healthy life with a strict vegetarian diet and he exercises regularly. He certainly sees 100 as a reachable target.”

Paul’s hunch is probably right, as recent studies have shown having your daily dose of meat, takes daily doses of your lifespan away, making you more likely to die from heart disease and cancer.

Although we’re not aware of any studies on it, we’re sure a veg diet gives you more strength to blow out all 100 candles when you reach the big day.

The drummer of the all vegetarian band Rise Against, Brandon Barnes, sat down for a little one on one chit chat with tomtimms.com where he talked about how easy it is to be veg and gave some thoughts on global warming and Sarah Palin.

This isn’t the first time Brandon has expressed himself on the 2008 vice presidential candidate. She must stir up a world of opinions!

So it was sorta by chance you all were vegetarians and had the same beliefs.
Yeah we all have same politics, not all bands have that dynamic. We’re all veggie and minded on those beliefs.

How is it on the road and finding the grub.
Well the catering is all veggie, restaurants are very accommodating to vegetarians. We can get pasta and veggie burgers. Most major cities now have vegetarian restaurants.

What do you think about Governor Palin talking about the ice glacier’s not melting due to Global Warming.
Yeah I saw the skit with Tina Fey on SNL, one of her lines was “There isn’t global warning, its just god hugging us a little tighter”. Most of the major scientist in the world agree that global warming is the cause, so you can’t really argue against it as its pretty much fact. I think alot of the Republicans wanna believe it’s not. Climate change does go in cycles, however they wanna keep drilling. What happened to the battery operated car, it’s a possibility. There are all these people who own oil and sell oil there keeping things like that from developers as they wanna make more money. Sarah Palin probably does know.
