Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will star alongside each other in Darren Aronofsky’s film, The Tiger. According to Entertainment.ie, the movie will be the first the couple has starred in together since Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The Tiger centers around an animal rights activist who must save a village of people from a tiger who’s become accustomed to the taste of human flesh, a phenomena, according to Save The Tiger Fund, is rare.

Humans moving into areas where tigers inhabit and tigers that are too sick or injured to catch normal prey of wild pig, wild cattle and several species of deer are usually the causes of man-eating tigers’ behavior.

Awhile back the Daily Mail published a story on how Brad Pitt was disgusted by Angelina Jolie‘s meat-a-day habit and wanted the children to stop eating so much steak. Sure, it sounded like a tabloid rumor, but now Starpulse has published a quote from Jolie on how she used to be a vegan.

“I joke that a big juicy steak is my beauty secret,” Jolie said. “But seriously, I love red meat. I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found I was not getting enough nutrition.”

This must be her secret to retiring early, cause red meat as a prophylactic will do nothing but send her screen career down the tubes if she’s unlucky enough to be stricken with illness. More studies are linking red and processed meats with cancer more often than actors and actresses hook up and break up.

If the land of veggies is giving you problems in nutrition land, we’ve said it before, now we’ll scream it again.

Brad Pitt will play a tiger hunter in a film, The Tiger, directed by Darren Aronofsky and based on a nonfiction book with the same title by John Vaillant, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After a town is terrorized by attacks from a Siberian tiger, Pitt’s character, an activist, is forced to hunt the animal he loves down to protect the citizens.

A sad story, and according to National Geographic, usually doesn’t happen.

Tigers normally avoid humans, and attack in situations when they are sick and unable to hunt properly or their prey has dwindled to scarce numbers.

Think you’re a pig at dinnertime?

A hungry tiger can eat as much as 60 pounds in one night!

That’s approximately the equivalent of, oh, 30 large mushroom and olive pizzas.

Definitely worth a good tip when delivered at your door.

Angelina Jolie Vera Farmiga Talk Evils Of Wearing Fur

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, December 21st, 2009 in Actresses, Fur.

Premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures' & Spyglass Entertainment's "Invictus"

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted having dinner earlier this month and a source says Angelina discussed the “evils of fur” with actress Vera Farmiga.

She was also reportedly nibbling on a tomato.

Could Angelina’s interest in cruelty-free be due to Brad’s pressure on her and the children to eat vegetarian, as reported earlier?

Whether or not the sensational story is true, one thing will always be factual–fake fur is better than the real deal, as no animal gets skinned alive or electrocuted or stuck in a cramped cage for its short lifetime.

If you the kind of woman who fakes it, check out Donna Salyers’ Fabulous Furs.

It’s getting colder and you’ll need that extra layer–just let the animals keep theirs.

A source said, “Brad hates seeing the children eating meat and he’s annoyed with how much red meat Angelina has.”

The source added that Brad wants the family to go vegetarian, but Angelina says that will never happen.

Uh-oh. Nothing like trouble in what would otherwise be paradise.

What do you guys think? Will the Brangelina fam go veg?

Are you living in a mixed meal household that frequently has arguments over how much meat the omnivores are eating?

Around Park City - 2009 Sundance Film Festival Day 1

New Orleans is alive and kicking and according to the New York Post, “the place for upscale travelers to visit this winter.”

The Big Easy certainly provides warmer weather than what many of us are experiencing now and the variety of food and culture rich spots such as the French Quarter, make celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Martha Stewart, and Brad Pitt all repeat fans.

Like any traveling adventure, a visit to New Orleans for vegetarians and vegans requires planning in terms of where to eat, and hip hop mogul Russell Simmons admits to the temptation of all the non vegan goodies.

“It’s the most difficult place to be vegan in the world,” he said. “I have found a lot of vegan food and vegan jambalaya, but the other food is so attractive!”

Not to fear, as online guides such as VegGuide.org, give you the rundown on every veg and veg friendly restaurant in New Orleans or anywhere else.
