What do Laura Bell Bundy and Natalie Portman have in common?

They both were involved in the off-broadway show Ruthless! The Musical.

Bundy played the role of Tina Denmark and Portman and Britney Spears were her understudies.

But Bundy and Portman had nothing in common when it came to food, as she told the Huffington Post, “We were actually good friends and had sleepovers. She was a vegetarian at 10 years old and I liked chicken on the bone. So we deferred a little bit in our eating choices, but we were very good friends, and we’d put on pageants and we’d make crank calls and we did all kinds of stuff.”

Any chance of Bundy calling up fellow country music ladies Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler and asking them to share a seitan recipe every now and then?

American Idol Gives Back

Carrie Underwood told US Magazine at the American Idol Gives Back show that she rarely eats out at restaurants.

“I think the hardest thing about what I do is eating [healthy] because we’re all over the place,” Underwood said.

“It’s fast food, there’s aftershow food, you get pizza, whatever,” she added. “I don’t do that. I don’t eat out ever.”

“Every once in a while I have a day off and I might go to a restaurant — but no aftershow food and I keep my fridge stocked.”

Carrie’s reluctance to go out may have a lot to do with her vegetarian diet.

Not every part of the country is as vegetarian friendly as others, especially the parts of the United States that boo her for announcing she’s veg on stage.

Still, this gal could use an iphone application like VegOut every once in awhile to navigate her way to the nearest veg friendly restaurant.

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Carrie Underwood and fiance Mike Fisher have ditched the traditional wedding cake and opted to be sweet tooth locavores and serve cupcakes made by a bakery near her hometown instead.

The rest of the reception menu has been decided on as well, as Carrie told Ellen DeGeneres, “We pick out food, and we know where we’re going to be. The big hurdles, but everything else we’re easy about…We don’t care.”

Because Carrie’s a vegetarian, she’s sure to have plenty of meat free options besides cupcakes.

If you’re in need of a vegan cupcake (along with sugar and gluten free), BabyCakes bakery has you covered East Coast or West.

The bakery that originated in New York City and now with a shop in LA, offers cupcakes, cookies, brownies and now even donuts that are completely free of animal products.

BabyCakes’ owner, Erin McKenna, started the company because she had multiple sensitivities to foods like wheat.

Carrie Underwood Can’t Cook, Wears The Pants Not The Apron

The 6th Annual ''Pedigree Adoption Drive' New York

Carrie Underwood revealed some interesting facts about herself in a recent edition Cosmopolitan magazine.

Most of you already know the American Idol country music sweetie has been a longtime vegetarian, even though her parents work as cattle ranchers.

But just because she eats vegetarian, doesn’t mean she cooks it.

“It’s bad..real bad,” she said of her culinary skills.

Carrie still sticks at the diet though, partially because she feels it makes her have a less negative impact on the environment.

Another interesting fact: Carrie said in a relationship, she wears the pants and “over analyzes” everything.

Maybe she’ll tighten the belt buckle and start putting the rules down for fiance Mike Fisher and ask him to do Meatless Mondays.

With her fantastic cooking skills, she’s sure to keep him straight by offering the same dish of boiled pasta every week.
