Ginnifer Goodwin Funny Farm Sanctuary PSA Outtakes (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Videos.

Ginnifer Goodwin is starring in Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey PSA this year and it took more than one take to get a decent 30 second commercial.

Here are some hilarious Farm “bloopers” with Ginnifer and her cow and turkey co-stars.

“A little bit more ladylike,” Ginnifer advises as a turkey eats apples from a bowl.

Then there’s the cow who takes a break to “lick its ball.”

The DVD series of these would sell more than Girls Gone Wild.

Jonathan Safran Foer‘s trailer for Eating Animals features the very creature Jonathan used to despise–the dog!

“I had a particular lack of enthusiasm for dogs—inspired, in large part, by a related fear that I inherited from my mother, which she inherited from my grandmother,” Jonathan said.

Jonathan discusses french kisses with the dog, dinners with grandma and how his wife’s pregnancy with his first son prompted him to write his latest book in the trailer.

Lead vocalist for Linkin Park and Dead By Sunrise Chester Bennington has bared his decorated pecs in an anti fur ad for PETA, Ink Not Mink.

We’d love to know the stories behind all of Chester’s tattoos and he would like fans to know the story behind fur farms and the fur industry.

“Electrocuting animals, skinning them while they’re alive—these are acts of inhumanity. Because it’s out of sight, it’s usually out of mind for most people, and we need to show our respect for … all creatures of this world.”

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in Actresses, Fur, Videos.

CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute 2009

Eva Mendes recently teamed up with PETA to launch a new anti fur campaign in Los Angeles.

Eva once bared her own fur in an ad for the animal rights organization and said she’d be interested in doing a threesome anti-fur ad with Morrissey and Jennifer Aniston.

We’re still waiting for that one to come out.

In the meantime, take a look at Eva’s new PSA against fur.

“I didn’t know how animals were killed for fur,” Eva says. “And I even wore fur once myself. But when I learned how cruel the fur industry is and that there were no laws protecting these animals, I swore that I’d never wear it again.”

Saturday Night Live featured a hilarious clip mocking Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and Dave Matthews.

“Jason” walks in and “Jack” says “vegan cookies” and asks Jason what he’s been up to.

“Oh, the usual,” Jason says.

“Maintaining my avocado farm,” he added.

Jason’s recipe for chocomole containing chocolate, agave syrup and avocado might be even better than vegan cookies.

Morrissey Insulted By Cursing Hamburger (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, November 20th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Male Singers, Videos.

Morrissey was recently in Hamburg, Germany when he made a joke during his performance that the residents should be called “Hamburgists” instead of “Hamburgers.”

Morrissey’s so into veg, he just can’t have his fans being called hamburgers, ya know?

Someone in the audience didn’t object to being a Hamburger and yelled, “F*ck you,” to Moz.

Morrissey then replied, “Go. We don’t need you, we don’t need you. You can leave, and you can f*ck yourself.”

The man was then reportedly escorted out the venue.

Oh, yeah.

Moz will kick you off the team for eating meat.

And will kick you out the venue if you like being called a burger.

“You seem to have a very reasonable approach to the animal world and saving the endangered species,” Jon said. “I mentioned to you earlier that I enjoy the occasional cheeseburger and you were okay with that.”

“I’m okay with that,” Jane said.

“Thank you,” Jon joked and elicited loads of laughter from the audience.

Watch the clip to hear Jane discuss how chimps have the same range of emotions as humans do, her thoughts on extremists and how she’s been criticized by vegetarians, even though she is one.

Radio host and vegetarian Jackie O is starring in this PSA educating people about pig factory farms for Animals Australia.

Animals Australia has launched its first ever TV commercial which is currently airing down under.

The commercial intends to show readers the connection between the plastic wrapped pork they pick up in the supermarket and the animals that are confined in cages during their lifetime before slaughter.

“Australia is often called the lucky country,” Jackie says. “We have a quality of life that is always the envy of people around the world. But this should be the lucky country for animals as well. I was horrified to learn that despite improvements overseas, here in Australia, there are still over 200,000 mother pigs and 11 million battery hens who endure lives of sheer misery in factory farms.”

Watch the commercial that is airing below and the behinds the scenes with Jackie O above.
