Republican Roy Brown Accused Of Inappropriate Vegetarian Relations

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, November 7th, 2008 in Politicians.

I did not have relations with that veggie burger…I did indeed have relations with that veggie burger.

In the midst of ugly, negative campaigning Republican candidate for Montana governor Roy Brown got smeared by the Democrats. He said they accused him of being a…vegetarian.

Sure, politicians are no angels, from past drug use to current prostitute use but a vegetarian? Shameful.

“I am not and have never been a vegetarian,” Brown said.

“I am disgusted by the baseless allegation that I am a vegetarian and that my personal eating habits should somehow be construed as opposed to the economic interests of Montana’s livestock industry.”

However, he did admit to, ahem, relations with a vegetarian lifestyle. He said he temporarily cut back on meat and dairy in order to please a dying loved one who couldn’t eat those products.

“It was the least we could do to make the life of a loved one more comfortable at a very difficult time,” he said.

Here’s how the rumors got started. Brown’s neighbor, Pat Etchart (the dirty little instigator) sent an email to Dennis McDonald, Chairman of the Democratic Party in Montana that contained saucy details of how Brown invited her and her husband over to his house to get acquainted. One thing led to another, and Brown allegedly said that he and his wife were vegetarians. (They probably wanted them to recipe “swing” and try something new. Sooo dirty.)

Like OMG! The Montana cattle ranchers would so totally not like that and probably not vote for him. That’s probably what Etchart thought when she was sending the email.

Makes you wonder how far some people will go to drag a candidate through the mud. Did spies follow him to the grocery store?  Should he have submitted his lunch burger to DNA tests to confirm it was real cow?

Doesn’t really matter now. Sometimes dirty campaigning pays off. Brown lost.

Chelsea Clinton’s Veg Rebellion

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 in Politicians.

The School Of American Ballet Hosts The Third Annual Winter Ball

Such an innocent, sweet face and demeanor. How could an angel possibly rebel?

There are a lot of ways to rise against the ‘rents, some worse than others. Chelsea Clinton decided to show mom Hillary who was the pre-teen boss by coming home one day and refusing to eat meat.

“…I got home when I was 11 and just declared I was no longer eating meat,” she said earlier in the year when she was on the road with her mother.

Her response was directed to a fellow vegan audience member she met at a campaign stop, according to the New York Post.

Hillary took the “if you’re going to do it, do it nutritiously,” approach to her daughter’s declaration of food independence and demanded Chelsea learn to cook for herself and complete lessons from the white house chefs.

We heard Chelsea’s favorite summertime veg treat is grilled onions. Bet Hillary and Bill didn’t mind this either, as it probably helped to keep the boys, Republican or Democrat, at bay.

Emily Deschanel Likes Gardein From Whole Foods

2008 FOX UpFront - Arrivals

More food voyeurism. What do the vegetarian stars like to eat? We found what’s probably on the grocery lists of Chrissie Hynde, Constance Marie, Dennis Kucinich, Daryl Hannah, and Emily Deschanel every week.

In addition to vegetarian pot roast, our favorite Bones actress likes Gardein, a wheat protein product that she says you can only find at Whole Foods. “It’s very tasty,” she said.

Constance Marie is really into veggie hot dogs, Daryl Hannah tries to stay away from fake meats because of soy isolate, but Dennis Kucinich loves his Tofurky`kielbasa’ and the vegan Gardenburger.

Singer Chrissie Hynde is probably the least picky to please: “I will eat whatever I am offered, providing no animals have suffered.”

White House Chefs Taught Chelsea Clinton To Cook Vegan

Chelsea Clinton Campaigns For Her Mother In North Carolina

Most college students leave home with knowledge of how to boil ramen noodles, bake frozen pizzas, and maybe stack high their favorite sandwich. But most college students aren’t daughters of the President.

Before Chelsea Clinton went off to Standford, Hillary asked the White House Cooking Staff to teach her daughter how to prepare delicious vegan meals. Chelsea has been keeping pork off her fork since childhood. But this was more than just a weekend of “helpful hints.” Chelsea spent an entire 6 weeks learning the craft and upon completion, she received a Walter Scheib cooking school certificate.

Masslive.com has lots of juicy details given by Walter Scheib, who served as executive chef for the White House during both Clinton and Bush presidencies, including how Hillary Clinton was really into fennel and Laura Bush was “adamant about organic.”

Pamela Anderson On Sarah Palin: “She Can Suck It.”

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, September 12th, 2008 in Actresses, Animal Issues, Politicians.

We bet you 100 bucks we know who Pamela Anderson is voting for this November. Or at least who she’s not voting for.

Anderson was in Toronto speaking out against animal abuse in Hollywood when she was asked what she thought of Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. The reporter mentioned the Newsweek article which pictured a bear hide in Palin’s home office. Palin has also made it known she is an avid hunter.

“I can’t stand her,” Anderson said. “She can suck it!”

Ah, good old vegetarian Pammy is back again, never failing to tell anyone who disagrees with her beliefs how she really feels. Fellow hollywood star Matt Damon has been a little more polite about it. He just thinks Palin’s absurd.

Vegetarian Matthew Scully Writes Hunter Sarah Palin’s Speeches

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, September 5th, 2008 in Animal Issues, Politicians.

McCain Holds Campaign Rally In Washington, Pennsylvania

In some ways you could call Matthew Scully a well-rounded man. He is a vegetarian, who has published several books advocating animal rights, including Dominion: The Power of Man, The Suffering of Animals, and The Call to Mercy. He’s also a political writer and has made George W. Bush a very articulate sounding man by serving as special assistant and senior speechwriter for the president from 2001-2004.

So what makes him so well-rounded? He is writing speeches for Sarah Palin these days. In case you didn’t know, Palin has proclaimed herself an avid hunter. And although the two are as opposite as Paris Hilton and the Pope, the partnership seems to be working-for now.

Time Magazine made some speculations as to how long this relationship can last:

“The Palin-Scully pairing is anything but a guaranteed fit, though. Palin is known as an avid hunter; Scully is best known for his vigorous defense of animal rights. A vegetarian who is regularly critical of the NRA and much of the hunting community, he is a passionate advocate for doing away with the more brutal versions of blood-sport, including aerial hunting, which Palin supports.”
