Paula Deen‘s diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes was all it took for the Queen of Butter to put a little less bacon in every dish and replace it with more greens and grains.

But she’s not the only member of the Deen family to lose weight and gain health benefits.

Paula and sons Bobby and Jamie join her on the cover of People, each showing their respective pounds lost.

Jamie Kilstein has a recent interview with PETA2.

The comedian has an upcoming tour in the UK and although he is known for inserting his animal rights and vegetarian beliefs into a few of his routines, that doesn’t mean meat eaters will get a tongue lashing.

“A lot of people who eat animals aren’t the monsters we like to imagine. Many of them are ignorant like we once were,” he said. “They don’t think of a McNugget as a baby chick. They think of it as a McNugget, whatever the f*** that is. Most people love animals. We treat our dogs and cats like members of the family, but the cognitive dissonance is unbelievable when it comes to the dead animals we put in our mouths.”

Rooney Mara Is Girl With The Vegan Food At Sundance

Rooney Mara celebrated her most recent film Ain’t Them Bodies Saints at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, over a vegan dinner at a private dinner that included several cast members from the movie.

Mara, a vegan, enjoyed a meal of “cabbage spring rolls, green tea sorbet with berries and forbidden tofu, which is made with crispy tofu, aromatic black rice, coconut eggplant, thai basil and lychee vinaigrette,” according to People.

Mara’s is best known for her role in the crime drama The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

“The Onion” Publishes Letter From Humane Meat Farmer

The Onion has published a hilarious piece mocking the “humane meat” industry.

In “We Raise All Our Beef Humanely On Open Pasture And Then We Hang Them Upside Down And Slash Their Throats,” livestock farmers pledge to deliver many things to today’s environmentally conscious consumer and animal welfare advocate, including the, “highest quality beef from cows that are healthy, active, and eventually suspended fully conscious inside a facility thick with hot, blood-choked air and the frantic bellows of dangling, profoundly fearful animals.”

Kristen Bell is expecting and both her vegan diet and her experience being with child has made her consider the conditions many mother pigs endure on farms.

In a letter to the National Pork Producers Council, Bell asks that the industry do away with gestation crates that allow the pigs very little room to move freely and live naturally.

Bell says that although she loves being pregnant, she “can’t imagine how awful it would be under conditions like these.”

Wolfgang Puck Oscars Governors Ball Menu Has Vegetarian Dishes (Video)

Wolfgang Puck will be catering his 19th consecutive Oscars Governors Ball in February, and he’s already given a glimpse into the menu that celebrities and guest can feast on in the The Ray Dolby Ballroom on the top level of the Hollywood & Highland Center after the ceremony.

This year’s changes include smaller plates and more buffet style dinner options, with a total of 50 dishes to choose from.

Like previous years, Puck’s menu has something for Hollywood’s vegetarians and vegans.
