Carrie Underwood agrees it’s a lot easier to be a vegetarian today.

Even in the most unlikely of places.

She told Stylist magazine how easy it is for her both and her meat eating husband to agree upon a restaurant.

“I am 100 per cent vegetarian but I try my best to be vegan. It’s getting better. There are so many restaurants that will work with you – even steakhouses. My husband [ice hockey player Mike Fisher]loves to eat meat and there’s a place called King Prime that we like to go to. They’re always really nice to me and give me veggies if I ask for them. There’s loads of newer restaurants in [Nashville districts] East Nashville and The Gulch that will cater for you too…”

Tal Ronnen is one of the players behind a new line of vegan cheeses created from nuts.

Kite Hill Cheese company promises to deliver “artisanal nut milk-based cheeses of remarkable craftsmanship.”

According to descriptions from Kite Hill, the cheeses will be gourmet in taste, with select blends of spices that make them stand out from the usual cheddar or mozzarella.

For example, take the Castanoa, seasoned with paprika and fennel pollen.

Rory Freedman Farm Sanctuary Gala for Farm Animals

Rory Freedman will be one of three judges in an essay contest for young adults sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States.

Students 13 years of age or older and enrolled in high school (grades 9-12), a two-year or four-year college or a post-secondary trade or vocational school are invited to participate by composing a 500-800 word essay on why Meatless Mondays is good for humans, animals and the environment.

Over 2,500 educational and health institutions are participating in the once a week holiday that encourages Americans to take meat off their plates.

Russ Irwin Of Aerosmith Rocks Vegan (Video)

Russ Irwin has been a backup vocalist and keyboardist for the rock group Aerosmith for years.

Irvin has eaten vegan for the past year and a half and has taken the time to record a pro-vegetarian ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

“First thing that happen when I made the switch–I lost a lot of weight,” Irwin says in the video.

“I just felt lighter. I felt healthier. I felt better.”
