Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, January 10th, 2010 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

The Brent Shapiro Foundation benefit held in Los Angeles

Now that Kendra Wilkinson and her husband Hank Baskett have taken time to relax and experience the joy of welcoming the first addition to their family, it’s time to get to work.

At least for Kendra.

The Girls Next Door star has shared her plans to lose those postpartum pounds, which includes getting red meat out of her diet.

“I’m trying to cut out red meat. so for dinner I have grilled chicken — I don’t eat seafood — and veggies. I don’t like steamed vegetables. I like them raw.”

Speaking of red meat…Kendra gave birth to quite a Whopper–Hank Baskett IV weighed 9 lbs 5 ozs at birth!

In addition to eating better, Kendra has an intense exercise program that includes hiking and biking.

But according to Kendra’s doc, breastfeeding may be the next Wii Fit program.

“The doctor told me you can burn up to 1,000 calories each time. Every time I pump, I’m like, ‘Yes! That’s a bunch of calories right there!'”

Breast pumping burns 1,000 calories?

Poor Hank and all the other males out there are missing out on the best triathlete training.

Congrats to the happy couple!

Kellie Pickler Is So Cheesy

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, January 8th, 2010 in Female Singers, Food & Drink.

UPI POY 2009 - Entertainment.

Sure, Kellie Pickler may have been following a “healthy” vegetarian diet for the past couple of years, thanks to another American Idol alumnus, but that doesn’t mean she always chooses the best combination of foods to eat.

Krispy Kreme, cheese and wine make up a big portion of her food pyramid, according to The Boot.

“I love cheese!” Pickler said. “I could eat just blocks of it. … Velveeta Shells and Cheese, cheddar cheese, wine and cheese. It’ll be the death of me. That and Krispy Kreme. Every time that ‘hot’ sign is on, buddy, I’m pulling right through that drive-thru. They know me down there. They’re like, ‘Oh, it’s Pickler again. She’s comin’ back for more!'”

Whoa there, Kellie.

Calcium may be great for the bones, but what about the saturated fat found in cheese and other dairy products ?

One of Kellie’s New Year’s resolutions is make more use of her treadmill.

After a workout on the human hamster wheel, maybe Kellie will reach for whole grain pasta with vinaigrette instead of Velveeta Shells and cholesterol.

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 in Female Singers, Food & Drink.

Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball - Day 2

Is Alexandra Burke looking to take advice from the very veggie and equally hot Leona Lewis?

According to News Of the World, Alexandra is expanding her options when dining out.

“I tried a vegan restaurant recently that Leona Lewis told me about. I was impressed. I hate training though, it’s the most boring thing in the world.”

Where is this restaurant again?

Burke said she tries to eat as healthy as possible before a photo shoot, but insists she never wants to whittle down to a Twiggy.

“Guys don’t like skinny girls, they like something to get hold of!” she said.

Hope Alexandra takes her own advice by putting a pat of vegan butter on her edamame next time.

Then she’ll really have the X Factor.
