Rob Schneider Hosts A DVD Signing Of "Big Stan"

We got an exclusive tip that Rob Schneider was spotted at vegan restaurant Angelica Kitchen in NYC recently.

Months ago, we learned Rob would love to do a commercial for Hormel vegetarian beans and weenies.

Angelica Kitchen serves vegan food that’s a little more fancy than beans and weenies like Miso Soup, the Tempeh Reuben Sandwich, and Marinated Tofu Sandwich.

If you absolutely can’t do without your beans, there’s also a 3 bean chili.

Now you know you might see Rob there as well.

Thanks to Will for the tip!

Steve Martin Banjo Playing Snacks Include Sugar Snaps And Tofu

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Actors, Comedians, Food & Drink, Male Musicians.

Steve Martin's Big Bad Banjo And A Conversation With Dave Barry

We’ve heard of what bands request when they’re backstage on tour and think we have a good idea of what Steve Martin snacks on between his banjo drumming performances.

Yeah, Steve Martin really plays the banjo.

From the Times Online:

“In fact, Martin has been playing the banjo for almost 50 years, and is accomplished enough to have won the approval of such banjo virtuosos as Scruggs (best known for the Beverly Hillbillies theme), Bela Fleck and Tony Trischka.”

“In his dressing room backstage at the Ryman, a visibly nervous Martin signs posters and nibbles at a vegetarian snack of sugar snaps and tofu. “Don’t tell anybody I have tofu,” he demands, deadpan, before explaining how he came to be performing at the home of country music.”

Steve’s CD, The Crow: New Songs For The Five String Banjo, was released earlier this year.

Chris Rock And Nia Long Visit fuse TV's "Hip Hop Shop"

Chris Rock was on the The Jay Leno Show recently when he started talking about Michael Vick.

According to girliegirlarmy.com, Chris said:

“What the hell did Michael Vick do, man? A dog, a pit bull ain’t even a real dog. A pit bull, that’s the white stuff. Dogs are white mans best friend – dogs have never been good to black people.”

Wow.

Talk about cruel, offensive, and plain stupid.

We bet the inner city kids benefiting from the anti-dog fighting outreach efforts of the Humane Society would say their pit bulls are their best friends and they’re thankful someone other than Chris Rock taught them about how to love a pet.

But heck, why are we even paying attention to Chris Rock?

He’s not even a real comedian anyway.

Sarah Silverman Marie Claire November ’09- Vegetarian Motivations

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 in Actresses, Comedians, Food & Drink.

Comedy Central Emmy After Party

After speculation and gathering evidence, the answer to Sarah Silverman‘s vegetarian status is finally revealed!

The funny gal thinks eating meat is anything but humorous.

Silverman has revealed in the November 2009 issue of Marie Claire what made her turn vegetarian:

“When I was 9 or 10 years old, my dad took me over to a neighboring farm to help get stuff for the meal. The farmer, Vic, told me to look at all the turkeys and pick one out. I saw a cute one with a silly walk and cried, ‘Him!’ Before my pointing finger had even dropped to my side, Vic had grabbed the turkey by the neck and slit [the animal’s] throat. Blood and feathers went flying. I had sentenced that turkey to death! Up until then, I didn’t know where meat came from—and I’ve been a vegetarian ever since.”

There’s an old saying that behind every good man is a good woman. Sarah’s boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel has given the props to animal welfare and vegetarianism on his show before.

Will we soon see a meatless Jimmy?

Jenny McCarthy Vegan: Rachael Ray Block Party Announcement

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, September 10th, 2009 in Actresses, Comedians, Food & Drink, Models.

Jenny McCarthy Hosts An Evening At Pure

Surprising news of all news.

Jenny McCarthy has publicly stated that she’s a vegan.

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray threw a Big Block Party in Jenny’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois to kick off her 4th season of the Rachael Ray Show that will air September 14 at 10 AM.

According to chicagotribune.com, Jenny and Rachael engaged in some chit chat and Jenny made suggestions for her hometown favorite foods.

Jenny recommended pizza from Giordanos.

“You’ve got to try the sausage one,” McCarthy suggested, “even though I’m now vegan.”

Hopefully, Jenny knows what vegan means and she’s not one of those chicken eating vegetarians like Eve.

Jenny has been outspoken on autism and her son, and some people believe switching an autistic child to a vegan, gluten-free diet improves symptoms.

Jenny has even recommended vegan, gluten-free Nana’s Cookies as one of her preferred products.

Could this have been a factor in Jenny’s switch?

All we can say is great for her, hope she keeps it up.

Now, let’s work on that animal killing Botox issue.
