Annie Ilonzeh Of “Arrow” PETA Angel For Circus Elephants (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, October 22nd, 2012 in Actresses, Animal Issues, Videos.

Annie Ilonzeh has gone from being one of Charlie’s Angels to an angel for circus animals.

The actress who stars in the new CW series Arrow, has filmed a PSA for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals on how elephants are treated at some circuses.

“[Elephants] are super-emotional creatures, and to have that calf stripped of their mom by humans and abused is the most painful thing to see,” Annie says. “And I feel like if the public were a lot more knowledgeable about the way that they were being trained, where it’s not on a rewards system, it’s on a punishment system, then circuses would not exist—and they should not exist.”

Joanna Lumley

‘I’m a vegetarian, although my husband isn’t. I’m not a fanatic, as that can put people off. I didn’t want anything to die so that I could live, it didn’t seem right. No matter what people say, animals face an appalling end, and somehow colluding with that makes me unhappy.”
