The Chuck Season Finale was divided into two parts: “Chuck Versus the Subway” and “Chuck Versus the Ring, Part 2.”

When Joshua Gomez‘s character, Morgan, and a few other guys learn they’re going to face some pretty bad guys and might have to use a gun, they argue over who should do so.  Awesome can’t because he’s a doctor designed to save lives, but Morgan is a “lapsed vegetarian.”

Presumably, while he’s going to McDonald’s during his Buy More computer store breaks, using violence or ending another life may not be as traumatic during the “lapsed” stage.

In real life, Gomez is not a lapsed vegetarian (last we heard), and prefers his veggie burgers microwaved.

AFI & Walt Disney Pictures' A Cinematic Celebration Of Jerry Bruckheimer

An informative article with a funny title, What You Can Learn From Flailing Stars, discusses various celebrities who have medical conditions and how to seek treatment if you suffer from the condition.

According to the article, vegetarian Orlando Bloom is also lactose intolerant, meaning his shared refrigerator with Miranda Kerr might have cartons of rice milk inside.

If you believe you suffer from such a condition, there are three tests you can ask your doctor to perform, the Lactose Intolerance Test, the Hydrogen Breath Test, and if you’re a genius infant who happens to have the ability to read gossip blogs, the Stool Acidity Test, all discussed on the Mayo Clinic website.

The Lactose Intolerance Test involves drinking a liquid that has high levels of lactose and getting blood tested two hours later. If your glucose level doesn’t rise, this means the body isn’t digesting and absorbing lactose.

The Hydrogen Breath test is not a sobriety one.

Paul McCartney performs in concert in Miami

Paul McCartney is set to perform at a benefit concert that will help both the Old Vic Theatre in London and his Meat Free Monday campaign.

According to Contact Music, the vegetarian musician was recruited by Kevin Spacey to play to raise money for the theatre who’s roof is leaking and is in need of repairs since it was damaged during World War II.

The event, which also includes an art auction, will have a portion of the proceeds go towards McCartney’s Meat Free Monday campaign.

“We are thrilled Paul McCartney will lend his extraordinary talents on the evening alongside brilliant artists who’ve generously donated their artworks for auction,” said Spacey. “It’s set to be quite a night.”

The concert will take place at The Boiler House at Battersea Power Station and tickets are available starting from $750 (£500) up to $15,000 (£10,000) for a premium table for 10.

No word on if vegetarian snacks will be served, but if Sir McCartney has anything to do with it, concert goers might be in for a tasty meatless treat in addition to Lady Madonna and Michelle.

Alec Baldwin “SNL” Performance Is Vegetarian Muffuletta Delicious

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 in Actors, Food & Drink, Recipes, Videos.

Alec Baldwin recently became the 2nd person to host Saturday Night Live for the 15th time–tying for the spot with Steve Martin.

To commemorate the history, associate publisher and editor of New Orleans Magazine Errol Laborde took time to blog about his encounter with the Emmy winning actor in the Big Easy.

During Baldwin’s visit to the Tennessee Williams Festival, he had partaken in New Orleans tradition and eaten a vegetarian Muffuletta sandwich.

A Muffu-whatta?

Muffuletta is a Sicilian sesame bread or submarine style sandwich that originated in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Traditional muffulettas contain several layers of meat, including salami and capicola, and are covered in an olive salad.

A mouth watering close up photo of a veggie version of the Mufuletta can be seen here to get you excited about trying the recipe.

Makes a good meal to snack on while watching the recent SNL clip you may have missed.

Mickey Rourke and his pet chihuahua Jaws star in PETA's latest billboard campaign in West Hollywood

Mickey Rourke‘s new girlfriend, Russian model and actress Anastasia Makarenko, better not complain about sharing a romantic evening with his Chihuahuas.

Rourke said if it comes between a canine and a woman, it’s a pretty easy decision.

He takes his dogs to dinner with him at restaurants and won’t eat anywhere unless the establishment serves up a doggie bag with his dinner plate.

“We like to go to dinner together,” Mickey told animal rights group People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). “I just like to go out with them to restaurants, to take walks with them.”

According to Chowhound, the state of Florida became the first in the U.S. to enact a law allowing dogs in the indoor areas of restaurants, though many at least allow them in outdoor patio areas.

A good thing, as this may decrease the chances of a pet suffering to death in a hot car on an afternoon when its owner chooses to grab a bite to eat.

“The most important thing about having a dog and loving a dog is keeping the dog its whole natural life,” he added. “It’s not about saying four months later, ‘Oh I met some girl and she’s allergic to it’. No man, you can’t do that. You gotta get rid of the girl. She gonna leave you eventually anyway.”

Canines before cuties, man. It’s the only way to go.

Nicolas Cage Won’t Eat Animals That Have Bad Sex

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010 in Actors, Animal Issues, Not So Vegetarian.

Jerry Bruckheimer Hand And Footprint Ceremony At Grauman's Chinese Theatre

Nicolas Cage is by no means vegetarian, but he’s chosen a very strange factor to determine what meat not to eat.

Cage says that pigs have the most undignified sex, and for that reason, he won’t touch pork.

Birds and fish get it on beautifully, though, and are fair game.

“I love all animals. I have a fascination with fish, birds, whales – sentient life – insects, reptiles,” Cage said.

“I actually choose the way I eat according to the way animals have sex. I think fish are very dignified with sex. So are birds.”

“But pigs, not so much. So I don’t eat pig meat or things like that. I eat fish and fowl.”

Seems odd that Cage eats the ones who loves, the so called “sentient” ones.

Has anyone told him that pigs are some of the most sentient animals, having intelligence beyond a toddler?

What exactly it is about the fish and birds’ game that makes Nicolas proud is unknown, but if all the creatures start getting their thing on in the sloppiest of ways, maybe he’ll start admiring the reproductive cycle of wheat and soy.

Common Celebrate Just Wright

Rapper and actor Common had his publicist take care of the daunting task of asking about ingredients for his lunch at Busboys and Poets for an interview with the Washington Post.

The Just Wright actor got a vegan pepperoni pizza with soy cheese and faux meat with lots of other veggies on a whole wheat crust.

“I think the way we choose to eat is definitely important,” he said. “I was vegan for a minute and I really commend those who can eat vegan. Then I was vegetarian. Now I eat fish, but I try not to eat too much dairy. I’m excited about this pizza.”

Common shared a story about when he did an ad for People with the Ethical Treatment of Animals that his family and friends saw on a billboard in New York.

“They put those ads up on this billboard in Brooklyn and my friends would ride past it and just laugh,” he said. “It did look kind of funny.”

Apparently, this vegan pizza at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C. is darn good, because Common ordered another one “to go.”

And these are some of the most veggie friendly waiters and bards in the district.

Besides “The Vegan” pizza with “vegan mozzarella, mushroom, onion, green and red peppers, vegan pepperoni with marinara or garlic and oil on a whole-wheat crust,” Busboys and Poets also offers vegan calzones, falafel, veggie burgers, vegan queasadillas and coconut tofu bites with plum sauce.
