Courtney Stodden became an overnight teen sensation when (after obtaining mother’s permission), married a man old enough to be her grandpa.

Stodden (then 16) and actor Doug Hutchinson (51) are through shocking the world with this bizarre and perhaps gross news, so the Mrs. has decided to make more waves by filming a very seductive pro-vegetarian ad of herself and posting it on YouTube.

Now Veg Star doesn’t necessarily condone marrying someone who’s diaper you’ll be changing at the same time you change your child’s, but it’s now legal and the couple seems happy, so best of wishes to them. And as Hutchinson continues to approach the nursing home years, he’s bound to have some, um, medical problems that might affect the happy union so someone needs to inform him that veggies work as well as Viagra.

Mayim Bialik

Mayim Bialik‘s Ph.D is in neuroscience and not vegan parenting, but the childhood Blossom actress who grew up to keep fans laughing on shows such as The Big Bang Theory has a wealth of knowledge to share for moms and dads interested in packing tofu instead of turkey in their children’s lunch boxes (hint: find a vegan  pediatrician to back you up in diet decisions).

“My health is so much better. I’m bigger now than I was eating meat. My lifts in the gym are better. I’m in better shape. A lot of people thought you couldn’t be a top-level athlete as a vegan, but people like Mac Danzig and Jake Shields are proving that’s wrong. And it’s better for me as a performer.”

Daniel Bryan, WWE athlete who’s (as you can see from his statement) got plenty of company in the crowd of vegetarian/vegan wrestlers. Bryan says he eats “a lot of Asian food — brown rice and vegetables, salad and protein shakes,” but he does allow himself the occasional vegan cupcake. We assume it has good things like chocolate and vanilla on it, versus brown rice and vegetables frosting.

Sarah Mclachlan

Sarah McLachlan has written a letter to Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper, asking that he help end the country’s annual seal hunt.

The problem with any industry that harms, be it animals, people or the earth, is that is also helping individuals feed, clothe and otherwise provide for themselves and their families, giving some the rationalization that it’s okay to continue.

But instead of berating the hunters for trying to earn a living, McLachlan calls on Harper to help create new economic opportunities that do not result in brutal killings.

MTV True Life

MTV’s True Life is a documentary on the channel which features real-life stories of people with potentially devastating psychological issues, such as drug addiction.

A recent episode of True Life highlighted three people who were said to be obsessed with eating healthy foods. The series went further to suggest these individuals have a condition known as “orthorexia,” a popular psych term of today used to describe someone who refuses to eat many ingredients suggested to be detrimental to the body.

An interview with all three subjects, who are on the vegetarian/vegan spectrum, revealed their reasons for being so selective with food.

Eating disorders are certainly serious subjects, but it’s always a cautious situation when the unhealthy becomes the norm, giving anyone who refuses to consume a steady diet of Big Macs a label of such. After hearing Lauren, Andrew and Spring’s reasons for eliminating foods from the diet, it appears these people are simply making decisions based on data and education, like Andrew’s choice to stop eating chicken because of animal welfare practices.

He did it all on a completely plant-based diet and described himself as being ahead of his time in an age that he claimed vegetarianism “wasn’t really cared for.”
