Olivia Wilde Gets Vegan Inspiration From Alicia Silverstone

Olivia Wilde has been playing the role of real vegetarian for most of her life.

She decided to take on a new part in the diet after meeting vegan Alicia Silverstone on the set of Butter.

During an interview with Stylist, Wilde discussed how Silverstone motivated her to go vegan.

“I have been a vegetarian since I was like… 12,” Wilde said.

White House Recipe Winner Demonstrates Winning Lentil Soup (Video)

Lahav Ardi, one of the winners in the White House’s Healthy Lunch Contest, stopped by Salt Lake City’s ABC4 to demonstrate his winning recipe, Lentil Veggie Soup, and give a few pointers about cooking.

“The smaller they’re cut, the quicker they cook,” Ardi said about cooking potatoes in the stew. He also gave a tip for cutting vegetables without cutting off your fingers.

Move over Rachael Ray, please give this little guy his own Food Network show.

“For people who are actually repulsed by meat, they’re not going to like this. The first reaction I had was, I know this is a meat analogue but if someone were to serve this to me in a restaurant I would have said ‘I think this is a mistake. There’s something about the mouth-feel, the fattiness. It feels fatty and muscly and like it’s not good for you when you’re chewing it. For a long-time vegan, it’s a little bit freaky.”

Biz Stone, Twitter co-founder, on the new chicken substitute his company helped to promote, Beyond Meat.

Charlotte Ross Visits Chimpanzees In Sanctuary

Charlotte Ross, NYPD actress who had a spot on Glee, recently took some time to spend with her chimpanzee friends at the Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest in Washington state.

Ross kept Burrito and several of his friends known as the “Cle Elum Seven” company. The group has been retired after living for years at an animal research lab in Pennsylvania.

“I had the incredible opportunity to visit Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest where I was able to learn more about these magnificent creatures and the wonderful environment that sanctuaries are able to provide for them,” said Ross.
