Phil Collen Gives Advice For Comforting Vegetarian Children

Def Leppard’s Phil Collen proves a plant-based diet does you well every time he takes off his shirt at a concert. Not only has the musician been a longtime vegetarian and recent vegan himself, he’s taught his son how to woo the ladies through diet too.

The son is now 22 and when he was younger, Collen gave some advice for putting up with teasing from kids at school who think vegetarian is for nerds.

Amanda Cohen‘s cookbook, Dirt Candy: A Cookbook: Flavor-Forward Food from the Upstart New York City Vegetarian Restaurant, is set for release in August.

The book combines vegetable-based recipes with comics on chefs, cooking and cuisine. Some of those comics contained in the owner of New York’s esteemed vegetable restaurant and Iron Chef competitor’s book were previewed in 2010, and now, a few more sneak peaks are available from Eater.
